Combatting fatigue

After posting a few days ago about starting to get hot flushes, I think this is definitely the menopause winding up in earnest... my period is due soon, so it'll be interesting to see if that's as normal. I'm coming up to age 51.

I've had flushes every day this week - not enough to interfere with my life, but noticeable and I hope they don't get worse!

I've borrowed the Michael Dooley book from the library and have started on black cohosh and plan to have some soya every day - started with the book's menopause smoothie today. Luckily I already do many of the things he recommends - exercise, healthy diet and yoga.

However, I've been feeling really tired for some months now, for no apparent reason. I work ft and have 1 child still at home, but my lifestyle is getting less frantic, not more.

I do wonder if it's lack of light, as, during the winter, I don't get much fresh air or daylight during the week... am thinking about possibly investing in a lightbox. I'll wait to see if the cohosh and soya have any effect first though.

Has anyone managed to fight off menopausal fatigue, and how did you do so?
