Have started weaning myself off but does anyone know whether you should take the green pills as well as the white ones as I've read that you need to do this to shed the lining of your womb. My GP told me to only take the white ones so now unsure what to do? After taking one tablet every other day now plan to take the next packet every 3-4 days. Working well so far!

why are you confused if your GP told you what to do?

Just read somewhere that it was important to finish whole packet &wondered if anyone else knew about this. My GP didn't mention I should finish packet

You need to ask your dr or the pharmacist. It seems sensible to have a bleed once you have come tothe end of all the other pills.

I can't help you as I use oestrogen gel and progestin tabs, separately. But I imagine that when you come off it for good it should end with a period.

Hi everyone,

I am 44 and started taking HRT in April. I have tried 2 different types and recently noticed that i am getting severe anxiety, especially at night that keeps me awake most of the night. I originally started on HRT for the usual symptoms but mostly severe depression that blighted my life so badly i was close to suicide. I cant take any kind of antidepressants as i react badly to them (and this goes for st johns wort too and black coshe). Although the depression has lifted since taking the hrt, i am thinking of coming off hrt and want to try a herbal remedy as the anxiety is driving me mad and i think its the hrt causing it. Is there anything anyone would recommend? I do take a good menopausal vitamin and mineral tab and evening primrose oil.

Can't help you with the meds question but have you thought about CBT etc for your anxiety and depression?

Hi Ameliagrey, yes i have tried cbt and it did help a little. I also practice yoga and other forms of exercise regularly which does help. I have decided to come off the HRT for a bit and see what happens as i have been taking them since April and things may have changed. Thanks for you answer xxx
