How far into menopause do you have to be before anything shows up in blood tests?

Weird stuff has been happening to me for about 5 months - missed period completely (unprecedented), next month it came but soaked through everything at night (again unprecedented) and there's a whole list of other stuff as well. GP organised blood tests but everything came back normal - which is good in that she asked for tests re things like anaemia and thryroid as well. However I did wonder - if this is the slow lead-in to several years of gradual changes, would blood tests tell you much in earliest peri-menopause anyway?

I would just love to improve the way I've been feeling for the last few months...

Thank you.

one single blood test is no good as your hormones go up and down every day. any GP should know this- you need at least 2 tests within a month- something like day 3 of your cycle then day 14-15.

I had the opposite result- my bloods said i was menopausal then I had periods for another 18 months.
