Menopause following hysterectomy, ovaries still in. Anyone else?

I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago at the age of 35 and I understand that it can trigger a slightly earlier menopause.

As I don't have periods anymore I'm not going to have an obvious way of detemining when my menopause is kicking in.

Get dreadful mood swings, snappier than a crocodile, breast tenderness, sweat more, skin has got spottier, feel warmer than I used to and am horribly forgetful, I regularly forget things as I go from the top to the bottom of the stairs and stand there like a lemon wondering what I'm doing Sad.

I did speak to a GP who said it couldn't be the menopause as I was too young Hmm. I need to get a blood test really don't I?

Just having a moan really. I don't feel myself these days and it may well be down to my hormones fading away.

Just bumping for you.

no personal experience but if this was meno at 37 you would need HRT as it's dangerous for your boesn etc not to.

You need a blood test and referral to a gynae- and not just one blood test- hormones vary a lot so 2-3 tests in a month gives the real picture.
