I am booked to have this next month and although it is what I want I am getting pretty nervous. Can anyone share their experiences with me?

No, sorry- but have you thought about posting on the general health forum? This is not purely a meno problem. might get more replies.

yes i had one in November 2010 and am regretting it.I had very heavy long periods which are now not heavy but still long, but now have terrible pain during my period.I have appointment at the docs this week and can only think that the only solution will be a hysterectomy.I have just joined this site to see if anyone has any information.

I had one and it has changed my life. my periods were so heavy tampons would fall out and I was at the stage of needing blood transfusions I was so anaemic.

mt periods are now much more manageable and I can leave the house.

There's quite a lot of posts about this procedure on the Health board.

I think I might need one. I am having yet another long, heavy period and I am in agnony. Haven't been able to leave the house all day.

I've tried Norethisterone but it makes me deranged and shouty. Sigh.

(Also in v late 40s.)

"Agnony" is a special kind of agony, reserved for women.

I had this done on 2nd August and have since had 2 periods both of which lasted 4 days and were soooo easy. Was able to move more than 10 yards from the bathroom - even go out, walk the dog, cycle. I can honestly say this has changed my life. I know it doesn't always work for everyone but I am so glad I had this done.

No-one should be in Agnony every month...
