Hrt and postmenopausal bleeding

I have been taking hrt combined patches for 5 months and until about 3 and a half months had no breakthrough bleeding. After 6 months apparently this should be investigated but a GP who is not my usual sent me for a vaginal scan and possible hysteroscopy and I am worried that this investigation is being done too soon without examination/discussion etc. Has anybody else had breakthrough bleeding whilst on evorel conti? I am very confused and worried as there is very little information about this. Just wonder if I need to try a different type of hrt? I have had no periods for about 5 years and only took hrt for the bone building properties

If you have had no periods for 5 years and then bleeding, it does warrant investigation.

why have you been given HRT for your bones? who gave you this? It is not the first choice drug- normally you would be given something like Fosomax if you have established osteoporosis. Do you?

breakthrough bleeding is common with some HRT but they usually say give it a few months to settle down.

have you been referred to a gyane or straight for an investigation.

I had both those investigations but after 3 episodes of bleeding after being on HRt for 2 years. It was normal, and possibly caused by short periods.
