Okay- I am always recommending this so think it deserves a post of its own.

This book is written by my gynae who you all know i think it brilliant. he's not only highly qualified but lovely and caring too.

It's called Your Change Your Choice. Michael Dooley Fellow Royal College of Gynaes.

It's roughly 50/50 complementary/conventional appraoches to the menopause, beginning with the signs, causes and what to expect type of things.

There are very detailed chapters on diet, exercise, best make up ( it's co authored with a beauty-health writer) as well as the emotional changes we have to cope with.

The chapter on HRT is very detailed giving stats for risks, but there is loads of info on supplements and herbs, acupuncture and Ayurvedic approaches if you want to go that way- which he advocates as a first step.

I am NOT on commission- he doesn't neeed it!- but it's as easy read yet very informative.
