Is this the start of menopause?

My last period was in December 2010 so I have since missed three. Pregnancy tests at the doctors were negative and I have no symptoms of pregnancy. I have not to date experienced any hot flushes. The only symptoms I do have are increased bloatedness on certain days. low libido and some weight gain especially around my tummy. For two months I had no cervical fluid but this has now returned, almost to the point of excess this month. I have been taking Evening Primrose Oil (as I read this was good for pre-menopausal women)so don't know if this is causing the fluid increase.

Given the above, do I need to go to the doctors for any tests? I am concerned that I may be having an early menopause and don't know why as there is no family history of this. I have never smoked and have not had any surgery which could influence it. I did fall pregnant unexpectedly last year but suffered a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks. Prior to this my periods had been regular but had shortened to 25/26 days cycle some months.

I am 43.7 BTW.

Suggest book an appt at GPs to discuss this. It's perfectly reasonable to want to know what's going on. I'm due to see mine in 2 weeks! Still got periods, but snap on bloating, shortened cycle, also some hot flushes and moodiness. I'm 45. It's rather early, but from what I've read quite feasible.

TBH I would not immediately assume peri-menopause from what you describe. Definitely go to the GP to investigate further.

Could be any number of reasons for missing 3 months but do go to GP for blood tests.

I think the evening primrose thing was discounted not long ago- good for breast pain but not much else- certainly not menopause.
