Anyone taking Qlaira as HRT?

I´ve just been diagnosed as menopausal (age 38), and have been prescribed Qlaira as HRT. My gynae told me that it was mostly used as a contraceptive pill, but I was curious whether it was commonly used as HRT?

Hello Shiner,

I volunteer for The Daisy Network [www.thedaisynetwork.org.uk] (support charity for those of us with premature - under 40 - menopause). Our expert patron, Nick Panay, spoke at our recent conference and did indeed recommend Qlaira as a low dose form of HRT for those (like me) who have found any other preperation that works well.

I;ll be requesting it today!

I was diagnosed with premature menopause two years ago aged 43. It all happened very quickly(almost overnight) and my body reacted immediately....difficult to wear contacts and my skin seemed to have become allergic to every cream and then I had two periods in one month. I was already registered with Nick Panay as a private patient and he recommended that I take Qlaira which I have been on ever since. So far so good and all my symptoms have dissappeared and my oestrogen (on last check) levels were back exactly where they should be. Hopefully things continue like this for at least a couple more years. I cant say that I have had any negative impact from being on it.

Hi

resurrecting a zombie thread to ask if there's anyone out there who has tried Qlaira as HRT? GP suggested it as I've been getting quite down/PMT while on Prempack. Which is a shame as I really am finding the HRT useful apart from that!

Hi mkm. My GP has just suggested this to me. I'm happy to give it a go as I was very happy on the combined pill pre DCs, - was also pleased to note that the chemist treated it as a contraceptive so there was no charge! (a mistake surely?)

Hello,

Sorry to resurrect a zombie thread.... again.... I have just been prescribed Qlaira as hrt... I am 44 and peri menopausal.

Is anyone else on this that can give me any feedback?

I will add that I live in France and have just exited the docs appt, as french is my second language I want to get a little reassurance and feedback that I understood him properly!!

Thank you Smile
