Paris Mumsnetters? English? French?

Hi,
I'm English but as my nickname would suggest have been living in France for the past 5 years or so. Have a little girl aged 11 months and am currently enjoying being a stay at home mum but a little more grown up contact couldn't go a miss. Wondered whether any Mumsnetters out there might be in the Paris vicinity????

I'd love to. I'm supposed to be back in UK by then, but I'll be coming over for meetings, so not out of the question. Good opp for DD to come back and see her lovely nanny.

ParisMum · 07/09/2005 13:47

Musée Rodin is perfect for next Friday - fingers crossed the weather holds. I haven't been there in ages, and the garden is lovely. As for early December, why not? I'm hoping to be living in the South by then but nothing's certain... and I'll still be popping back to Paris every now and then.

Great. Midday too early for you? I'll wait on the steps leading upto the house, and you'll know me as the one stuck like glue to the back of a climbing toddler.

blossom2 · 07/09/2005 14:00

Can i come too parismum & beetle73?? it was nice meeting you last tuesday.

although i need to check with DH to make sure he's taken the day off and then he can pick DD1 up from school so will only have little baby with me...

Oh, i've also got the message book "ABC of motherhood in paris" and since i'm moving back to the UK, would anyone like it?? its very useful with stuff to do with littlelins in paris.

ParisMum · 07/09/2005 14:00

no, midday is fine. my dd will be firmly stapled into her pushchair... probably still trying desperately to remove her new shoes if today is anything to go by! look forward to meeting you and 'la petite grimpante'

Salut les filles! I'm working in Paris at the moment, and DS (nearly 2) is about to start creche which is a bit scary as he doesn't speak French.

But although I am not available during the day, I'd still be interested in meeting up at other times if you're arranging anything. I haven't got round to going to any Message Group stuff (I don't know why they all seem a bit scarier than Mumsnetters!). So please can you include me in any evening possibilities? Or weekend, I suppose.

I live in the 15th, near Pasteur.

Looking forward to a good bitch about how difficult it is to get a pushchair round public sites and the Metro, but also seeing how you all cope in this wonderful/crazy city...

blossom2 · 09/09/2005 11:02

Hi babe ..... Welcome to the paris group.

What are you doing tomorrow?? I'm opposite the mairie of the 15e and have organised to meeting a friend to try out an indoor playarea. CAT me if you fancy joining us....

ParisMum · 09/09/2005 12:38

  • Blossom, am I reading correctly that you've had your little baby? Congratulations if so! When? Very lovely news.
blossom2 · 09/09/2005 16:25

it was really nice this morning as well parismum!! it was good having someone to talk to even though I'd had no sleep.

Aero - i've been thinking about you and the cats - how are they??? thank you for your wishes. i keep forgetting what your nickname is and thought it was aloha!?!?! Baby Charlotte is 9 weeks old now and a little pickle but lovely.

We're going to start a bedtime routine tomorrow night - its amazing how you can let things go, when you are exhausted.

Aero · 09/09/2005 21:35

Tell me about it Blossom! Congratulations on the safe arrival of Charlotte! Just think chocolate and bubbles and you'll remember who adopted the cats. They're doing just great - very settled and content and get plenty of attention. We love having them.

Beetle73 · 10/09/2005 13:17

This group is growing. Good to have you with us Babe. I'd be up for an evening meet.

blossom2 · 10/09/2005 16:26

lets organise an evening out ... how does end of sept sound to everyone - saturday night?? there's a restuarant at Convention that i quite fancy trying out ?!?!?!

ParisMum · 11/09/2005 17:53

salut les parisiennes,
weekends are looking busy from here to end of Sept. at my end. Anyone free for a mid-week evening meet-up?

OP posts:
beetle73 · 11/09/2005 18:46

I may be in UK in late Sept. But if I'm around then I'll definitely pitch up for an evening meet, either midweek or w/e.

blossom2 · 11/09/2005 20:17

what dates are good for everyone?? i'm really easy! although sleep training Charlotte to go down in the evenings .... its only taken 3 hrs tonight .

Babe · 12/09/2005 12:52

Sorry to miss your suggestion re the weekend Blossom2 - had loads of guests and couldn't get online.

End of Sept tricky for evening meetup for me as DH is away then, although may have found a babysitter (always scary trying someone for the first time, isn't it, but she sounds very nice from her email).

Someone suggest some dates and I can check and make the necessary arrangements...and Convention is perfect for me.

blossom2 · 12/09/2005 14:23

how does thursday 22 or friday 23 ??

hopefully by then charlotte would have learnt that evenings are for sleeping

ParisMum · 13/09/2005 13:20

I'm free Thursday 22nd - if I can persuade dp to babysit
Were you thinking of a particular restaurant blossom2?

how did you get on settling Charlotte last night?
