Yorkshire/Derbyshire "with children" late summer meet

I know Katzguk has started a thread for the mum's Spa meet, but suppose we should think of another with children meet too

Probably needs to be September time, after the school holidays now doesn't it? Or does it?

I am free Monday and Fridays; weekends I have DH tagging along possibly.

After 1st September I am new holidays, so can take the odd day off mid week too if I wish - I have way too many holidays to use up

So, anyone interested? Any suggestions for date and place?

That's good; so if your side of town you can still do afternoons maybe?

I would be up for something in Septemember but would need ample notice as I would need to book a day off work. Preferably Thursdays for me.

Hulababy · 03/08/2005 09:17

Going Saturday

Can't wait!! Already been to Blackpool with roisin and her two, which was great - lovely B&B well recommended! And been to see my Mum too, so have been well busy. Came back to find toilet cistern broke and loads of water in the kitchen - oh how I love cleaning......

Am around for most of that week of the 22nd though so can meet then - if no-one else is interested we could meet??

Hulababy · 03/08/2005 21:01

Fountains sound great - and can we do Zooby's too? Got withdrawal symptoms! How about Friday?

fairydust · 03/08/2005 21:11

depending we're & when me and dd may be able to come - we can always ocme on the train

jamiesam · 03/08/2005 21:15

Definitely maybe over here, will keep an eye on your possible dates, thanks for this Hula.

Hulababy · 03/08/2005 21:29

Wedgiesmum - Friday that week? Or this?

OP posts:
callielou · 03/08/2005 21:33

I'm interested, depending on date. Work starts again (pt) on 6th Sept and DS will be at nursery every morning from that date, too, so end of August/beginning of September would be easier for us. If after 6th, we could possibly meet Thurs or Fri afternoons.

maddy17 · 04/08/2005 15:36

hello im kinda new can i come if so where n when

clary · 04/08/2005 15:50

hiya guys I'd like to come too, some days better than others for me.
If it's school time then I only have ds2!

Hulababy · 04/08/2005 16:23

Me & Wedgiesmum are definitely planning on meeting up on Friday 26th August. Quite fancy a snadwich at Zooby's (in Sheffield's Winter Gardens) and, weather permitting, a play by the fountains in the Peace Gardens. Anyone want to join us?

This may obviously be in addition to anything other that is arranged on here.

Hope you all had a good time at the last meet up - couldn't make it as DS in ridiculous mood after first night in( and out of) his proper bed. Things getting a little bit more back to normal now - can you count being 33 weeks pregnant and having your kitchen demolished next week ready for an extension being built normal!!!

Would love to meet up next time but think I should play it by ear/the bump as due mid September and who knows when he/she will come!

Hulababy · 05/08/2005 18:28

Some ideas...please add some for us to all decide.

  • Eureka - museum for children, Halifax right next to railway station

  • Brockeholes Farm, Doncaster - lovely farm with lots of animals, a playground and pony rides. Groups can arrange to have a tractor ride too.

  • link{http://www.sundownadventureland.co.uk/\Sundown Adventure Park} - lots of rides and attractions for young children, off A1, Worksop way out

  • link{http://www.sheffieldskivillage.co.uk/mountain.htm\Adventure Mountain, Sheffield} - at the Ski Village, not far off of A61. New, never been but supposed to be good.

  • link{http://www.cannonhallfarm.co.uk/\Cannon Hall Farm} - near Barnsley, Junction 38 of M1

  • link{http://www.ysp.co.uk/view.asp?id=1\Yorkshire Sculpture Park} - again of M1, around same area as cannon Hall I think? Lots of running around spaces!

Tropical Butterful House North Anston - not far of M1, J31.

There are some to get us started!
