Hi is anyone interested with a Chester or Warrington meet up?

Whereabouts in warrington? I only ever go as far as the retail park that has mothercare/hobbycraft/pizza hut. All my vices covered in one easy step!!

YanknCock · 11/03/2010 16:19

Beth, have we met? I am a frequent visitor to that retail park and those particular establishments. (although not HobbyCraft so much anymore, after making our own wedding invitations neither of us is interested in seeing that place again for a while)

I'm also in Warrington, but far east side. Up for a meetup. I went to the Manchester one the other day, was very fun!

BethAndHerBrood · 11/03/2010 16:50

I chickened out of the meet at TC. I would have liked to have met some grown ups, but I don't drive very far, motorways scare the bejeezus out of me!

I don't live in warrington, that's as near as I get!

MrsVidic · 11/03/2010 17:38

There's scoops in the town centre? Ice cream mmm or towards the other way?

I'm based near delamere forest so Warrington is easy 4 me

I would get lost as soon as I drove past that roundabout near pizza hut! I don't cope well driving in places I don't know, and if I got into warrington, I would never get out!!

I sound like a complete twat, don't I? I'm not, honest. I just know my limitations and work within them. That's what I tell DH anyway!

YanknCock · 11/03/2010 17:51

My baby group used to always go to the Swan in Winwick (near B&Q). During the day you can pretty much take over their back room with high chairs and prams.

Beth, there's also soft play, Jungle Gyms near LA Bowl just off A49. How do you normally come in to Warrington, am I right in thinking you're somewhere north of it and drive in on the A49?

Warrington is mostly easy for driving, but I did grow up near Chicago (lunatics on the road). And I used to drive in London (serious lunacy).

BethAndHerBrood · 11/03/2010 17:56

Ah yes, the swan. Go there sometimes. Have never been to the jungle gym, but know where it is. I have DS2, 3 , who is at preschool nursery every morning till 11.20am. But we could meet for lunch, or have a coffee while he's at nursery.

Let's have a meet up!!

YanknCock · 11/03/2010 18:18

Swan or Jungle Gyms? My DS is only 6.5 months so doesn't matter to him. Opinion MrsV?

Am normally free Mondays Wednesdays Fridays, and Thurs afternoon.

KnitterInTheNW · 11/03/2010 18:24

Ooo, me too! me too!

Out of Yank's days Monday would be best for me, as I work wed, thurs & fri...

YanknCock · 11/03/2010 18:35

Knitter!! I was planning to message you on facebook if you didn't find this! yayyyyy!

KnitterInTheNW · 11/03/2010 18:46

waves to Yank

Actually the swan sounds better to me, as I might actually be able to chat instead of being anti-social and following DS... (And food would be involved, which is always A Good Thing.

BethAndHerBrood · 11/03/2010 18:53

So, a monday at the swan then? For lunch, rather than coffee? Me and DS2 could get there for 12ish.

Which monday??

[BAHB all excited at talking to grown ups}

KnitterInTheNW · 11/03/2010 18:55

We're going to the zoo this monday coming, and the one after that my parents will be here for DS's bday. Any after that would be great!

BethAndHerBrood · 11/03/2010 18:59

Oh no, knitter, then it's easter hols for 2 weeks, which means it's going to be aaaaaaaaages before we get together!

Never mind, something to look forward to.

Where's MrsV gone? Have we scared her off her thread??!! An excellent thread at that, if I may say so!

BethAndHerBrood · 11/03/2010 19:00

Am I coming across as desperate, or am I managing to hide it??

YanknCock · 11/03/2010 19:01

I'm leaving town for 3 weeks starting March 26th, so I've only got the next two Mondays unfortunately After that I will be going back to work, but not sure what days yet.

BethAndHerBrood · 11/03/2010 19:06

Maybe we could have a mini meet up? Next 2 mondays are good for me, as DH away.

YanknCock · 11/03/2010 19:13

Sure, I should be free. Do you want to do lunch at the Swan this coming Monday? We can keep bumping the thread and see if anyone else wants to join us. Some of the Manchester people might, if they are on this side of Manc.

Knitter, I will see you at knitting group next week, I am determined that someone will teach me to do something to impress my mother.

YanknCock · 11/03/2010 19:14

Oh Knitter, what zoo are you going to? Chester? If so, I am very jealous. Actually I am jealous if going to any zoo, I love 'em.

BethAndHerBrood · 11/03/2010 19:56

Are you learning to knit? Knitter told me about her group she runs, but I can't get to it.

Yes, this coming monday, lunch at the swan. How lovely.

YanknCock · 11/03/2010 21:46

I'm going to give knitting a go. I had loads of time during my pregnancy, but tendonitis and carpal tunnel meant I could barely put my own trousers on, much less do anything complicated. Hands are pretty much back to normal now, so would like to give it a try!

Shall we say about 12:30ish at the Swan on Monday? I am short and very pudgy with longish dark hair that DS has probably been pulling/chewing on.

BethAndHerBrood · 12/03/2010 08:21

LOL! Excellent, I am short and pudgy too!! But I have ginger hair, chin length. Not sure which chin though!

Sound gorgeous, don't I?!

I shall have a 3yr old with me, who will mostly be interested in eating his way through the menu.

MrsVidic · 12/03/2010 13:17

I'm here- Mondays are fine- I have a DD aged 7.5 months so she should be good with your DC Yank.

The Swan sounds great!

MrsVidic · 12/03/2010 13:22

So this monday?

OP posts:
BethAndHerBrood · 12/03/2010 13:29

Yes, monday. As in 3 days away! O.M.G. How exciting - how much weight could I lose in 3 days, d'ya think?! (sadly, the answer is "nowhere near enough")
