It seems ages since the last one (was it really last September?) - so about time we did it again?

A Friday soon after Easter (knowing how long these things take to organise!) - so 16th or 23rd April perhaps?

Furball - have you got the list to CAT everyone?

norbert! and after all we said about how he should of been at Littlefishs. How bizarre! Hope you told him all about it?

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 14/04/2010 10:14

Sorry folks - gotta bail.
Dh has arranged for us to go and support a friend running the London Marathon that weekend - this includes acccomodation at the firm's flat so we have to go down on Fri night. (You might know her littlefish, teacher married to another teacher, both at same sec school in kidd, 2 girls)
Have fun.

Littlefish · 14/04/2010 12:35

Oh what a shame gherkin.

Yes, I think I do know her. I think she was in the same music group as me. Is one of her dd's "A" - a french name?

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 14/04/2010 13:09

Yes, that's her.

Tillyscoutsmum · 16/04/2010 21:35

Hi Ladies

Hope you're all well. I unfortunately can't make this meet up but wondered if I could ask a favour in the meantime ?

We were due to go to The Swan this Sunday for lunch but can't get a table. Do any of you have any recommendations for child friendly pubs/restaurants with decent food which might be able to get us in at short notice ?

Littlefish · 17/04/2010 22:55

I can't remember whereabouts you are Tillyscoutsmum.

Tillyscoutsmum · 18/04/2010 21:11

Littlefish - I'm in Kinver but we were meeting some friends from South Worcester so wanted somewhere in between. We went to the Bowling Green Inn in Hadley (Nr Ombersley) in the end. It was very good

Hope you all enjoy next week

NorbertDentressangle · 21/04/2010 18:34

Completely off topic here but hoping someone local will know the answer to this:

Ages ago I remember reading on a MN thread that there's a garage in North(?) Worcestershire (or maybe slightly further afield)that sells a lot of ex-motability cars.

Anyone know which one/where it is etc please?

We're in the process of changing our family car and need to find one soon.

Thanks

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 21/04/2010 18:37

NOrbert - I got mine (ex-motob) from Saville's garage, Mustow Green. From Worcs, take A449 till you pass Hartelbury, then turn right at traffic lights under railway bridge. Stright over next 2 islands, left immediately off the 2nd island. Lots ex motob cars here, also it is a Skoda garage so cheap new cars if you can bear the stigma of the name badge!.

NorbertDentressangle · 21/04/2010 18:41

Gherkin - thank you! It was probably you that mentioned it before.

I'll take a look at their website (if they have one) and maybe visit Friday if they have anything interesting.

What did you get? Its a Picasso that we're replacing, we might even get another as its been an all-round great family car TBH.

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 21/04/2010 18:46

I got a Ford Cmax. It was fine - and was VG value. However, it cost me £1000 just before Xmas; I am still not really speaking to it. Only done 33000 as well.
When we bought it, it was 18mo and had 4,500 on the clock. Cost well under 10K.

NorbertDentressangle · 21/04/2010 19:52

I've just had a quick look at their website -not a lot in the size of car we're looking for but I might give them a ring at the w'end to see if they have anything else in.

Alternatively I could see if they'll take the DC in part exchangethe DC and I could get the Porsche Boxster or MR2 and have a mid-life crisis in style

LunarSea · 23/04/2010 18:12

Stuck in A&E with ds1 after an accident at school. Looks like I'm not going to make it tonight. But have fun.

NorbertDentressangle · 23/04/2010 18:18

Oh No! What happened? Hope he's OK.

samsonthecat · 23/04/2010 18:31

Oh no, sorry you won't make it. I hope your ds is ok.

samsonthecat · 23/04/2010 18:32

Norbert would you like a lift?

LunarSea · 23/04/2010 22:23

ds1 ok - suspected broken wrist turned out to be just a bad sprain. But he's a bit put out that it's his left hand so he'll get to miss out on his sports, but still be able to write!

Another fab evening! good laughs and usual good food. I sooo wish I hadn't had that pudding. I'm stuffed to the brim!! and now me insomnias kicked in big time.

sorry to hear about your ds lunarsea Glad it's not as bad as first thought and he is on the mend.

NorbertDentressangle · 24/04/2010 10:05

I had a restless night too furball -obviously the most rich, chocolatey pudding ever is not a good idea at that time of the evening.

...it was rather delicious though

Lovely to see you all again.

Lunarsea -glad to hear that he's OK. Were you at the WRH A&E? If so you could have still joined us, as its only up the road, and DS could have had a bottle of coke and packet of crisps in the car

Littlefish · 24/04/2010 11:47

We really missed you Lunarsea - so sorry to hear about your ds, but glad that it's just a sprain.

Thanks all for a good night.

I like to picture the Furball family like this

Or this.

Littlefish · 24/04/2010 11:48

Try again

Littlefish · 24/04/2010 11:49

I give up.

Furball · 24/04/2010 13:04

I'm hoping it's more like this - looks fun no?

NorbertDentressangle · 24/04/2010 13:10

Whereas I actually think that they are just out of shot on this picture making their way...very slowly.... to Derby

Littlefish · 24/04/2010 16:20

"This Sylvanian Caravan comes with everything you need for a perfect holiday away with family or friends."

What, like a king size bed, swimming pool, guaranteed sunshine, a housekeeper, white wine on tap, a chef.....

No? I thought not.
