Regents Park, August picnic. Anyone fancy it?

Just wondered if anyone fancied meeting up in the summer holidays for a picnic in Regents Park. Just something very informal, come along with kids and food, a football...whatever.

Anyone fancy it?

I'd be up for it. I fancy a day out in London as it is!

bebejam · 14/07/2005 12:52

I'd be up for it as well

frogs · 14/07/2005 12:59

Yes, we'd come too. But it would need to be the middle two weeks in August, as we're away at the beginning and the end.

serenity · 14/07/2005 13:01

Depending on date/time etc we'd tag along.

jenweber630 · 14/07/2005 18:06

As long as I can get there with the train closures I would definitely be interested.

Posey · 14/07/2005 19:27

Ooh good. Any more takers?
I'll keep this bumped up over the weekend, see who else is interested, then try and fix a date that doesn't clash with people's holidays.

DD and I might tag along.

Can't do 3rd-14th August though as we are on holiday then.

motherjoekatie · 15/07/2005 12:48

would love to come along- if possible on a monday or a thursday?

Posey · 16/07/2005 20:55

Bump.

OP posts:
MumsRCool · 16/07/2005 23:57

Would definitely be interested and am flexible for August as not going on hols until Sept.

Posey · 18/07/2005 19:56

Anyone else? Will try and fix a date to suit us all tomorrow.

Bunglie · 18/07/2005 20:09

OOH! If it was in the afternoon I could come and I have been dying to wear my Mumsnet; T-shirt, hoodie, apron, badges (even the awful grin!) and I could use my mumsnet umbrella as a parasol as the weather will be brill.

However if you think I might be going a bit OTT I will leave the fridge magbet at home

Posey · 18/07/2005 20:18

No, bring the lot, at least we'll know you

OP posts:
Cristina7 · 19/07/2005 23:40

Depending on dates. We are away after the 15th.

jenweber630 · 20/07/2005 17:38

We're only away the weekend of the 20th of August - any other time should work.

Posey · 20/07/2005 21:00

This was more tricky than I thought, but having looked what everyone can do, it looks like Monday 15th is the date that most people are more likely to be able to do. Cristina7, you may be the only one away I'm afraid, really sorry

I'd be up for meeting from late-morning onwards. What does anyone else think?
I'm off away til the 7th Aug, but will look in then and see whats occurred in my absence.
Maybe someone could bump this up intermittently to see if anyone else wants to tag along.

Never mind, Posey, maybe next tim e for me then.

Posey · 21/07/2005 21:20

Glad you're not annoyed with me!
If it goes well maybe we'll do it more often.

jenweber630 · 22/07/2005 16:47

Maybe I'll go into yoga that morning instead of the afternoon and hop on the train afterwards... That works for me.

IlanaK · 22/07/2005 17:31

I am definately up for it. I live very close to the park. I can do that date too. I would suggest the playground that is at the gate nearest to Gt Portland St tube (can't think what the playground is called). It is the largest (I think), has something for every age, has toilets, has a snack bar van thing, and has a large green open space outside it for picnicing. Just a suggestion though

Posey · 08/08/2005 20:54

Right I'm back from my hols and catching up with things. Are people still up for meeting next Monday, 15th?
Any preference on times?
Does the playground near to Great Portland Street tube sound good to everyone?

Hi Posey

Hope you enjoyed your hols. I'm' a late comer to your thread. Sounds like a lovely idea. I'd just like to know if there will be any older kids there if you know - my DD is 8. And is the playground easy to find for someone who rarely makes it as far a Regents Park.

motherjoekatie · 09/08/2005 17:42

i can't make 15th- i am sorry. Hope you didn't make it a Monday for me. Have a good one

IlanaK · 09/08/2005 17:45

The playground is very easy to find. Go to Gt Portland St tube (or by bus along Marylebone Rd/Euston Rd) and enter the park by that entrance. You will pracically see the playground from there.

I can stillm ake it. My ds's are 4 and 1

jenweber630 · 09/08/2005 18:26

Well - things have come up and I won't be there - have a great time!
