mummy2reese · 18/04/2005 20:59

i will be going back to work in june. i'm a nursery nurse so i'll be takin my son with me. unfortunately i have to pay full fees which is 693.33 a month. i'm hoping tax credits will help us out a bit. where bouts was the girl from in hatfield? where r u from?

mummy2reese · 18/04/2005 21:04

misdee · 18/04/2005 21:27

Peartree area.

whereaboiuts in hatfield are u? i lived there last year, was in salisbury village, then moved to birchwood area.

honeypot01 · 18/04/2005 21:47

Hi gemma,

Im in Enfield Town. You should get help with nursery fees from tax credits as long as your income is below £30,000. Jordan goes to nursery 3 days a week, which costs £535, but when he turned 3, he got the early years grant which all kids are entitled, gets paid direct to nursery, its about £110, so i pay £450 a mth now. Do you take your son to any groups? I take my lil one to parent and toddler swimming sessions on a Thursday morning and am looking for something else for Fridays, i might take him back to Tumble Tots if don't find anything else. Are you going back to work full time?

mummy2reese · 19/04/2005 08:54

i've applied for tax credits and am still waiting to hear. there arent any groups near me that i know of. the one i looked into is full so we dont do anything.
i live in the ellenbrook area. my partner used to live in birchwood and i used to live in bishops rise.

honeypot01 · 19/04/2005 09:07

hiya1 dont really know hatfield that well, have you been to the Furzefield Leisure Centre in Potters Bar they have a programme of activities for under 5's. I'm a single mum have since split up with my son's dad when he was 20 mths old, were together for 7 years. unfortunately dont see him anymore but am in contact with his family. Have you taken your son swimming yet?

mummy2reese · 19/04/2005 10:52

i know where the furzefield is. i didnt know they did things for under 5's. i'll have to go and have a look. potters bar is only 10-15min drive from where i am. i live with my partner (not that its worth it). i've got a friend who lives in pb.

honeypot01 · 19/04/2005 12:47

if you go Furzefield website: www.hertsmereleisure.co.uk then click on the Furzefield leisure centre, im sure they'll have lots of things for your son. I live in Enfield, learning to drive at mo, but know theres a bus that goes straight there from here so might go up there at some point. How old is your son?

mummy2reese · 19/04/2005 18:57

my son is 3 1/2 months. he woz born january 6th but wasnt due till january 11th.

honeypot01 · 19/04/2005 19:06

aah, has he had all his jabs now? saw my mates baby today, he's only 11 days old, was 3 weeks early, so lovely and tiny. Wot do u do with your son while ur off work, do you know many other babies yet? all my son's friends who we saw on my days off work started school in Sept, so we've been going swimming which he loves and he sees some of his friends there from nursery too. Had day off today, still took Jordan to nursery thou, went shopping wityh my mate. How was your day?

mummy2reese · 19/04/2005 19:37

he had his 2nd lot of jabs today. i had to take my mum to hold him koz i get really upset wen he cries. we dont do much at the mo. all the baby clubs round here r full. my friend has got a boy who is 13 months so we meet up with her. hope the driving lessons r going well. r you near to taking your test?

honeypot01 · 19/04/2005 21:19

how was the jab, is he a bit grizzly? after the last one you can take him to the toddler sessions at swimming, he'll love it, they do games, like ring o roses, grand old duke of york, you can join in or just do your own swimming with lil one if you want, some weeks we do some we do our own thing. i had to go to opticians today to choose some glasses for driving, get em nxt wk thou. my instructor told me i cant read the reg. plate from required distance so wont be able to do test if cant read, luckily as i get tax credits i didn't have to pay anything, only need em for driving and comp. Its a 3 month waiting list at mo for test, il have to phone centre for cancellation so hopefully pass by xmas cos thats when theory runs out! Do u drive?

mummy2reese · 20/04/2005 09:46

he was ok for his jabs. he cried wen it happened but as soon as we walked out he was ok and he was ok all night. i've been drivin since november 2000 but didnt get a car till feb 2001. i had a white corsa. i had that until sept last year and i now have a silver 306. i only pay £300 a year insurance. thats with 3yrs no claims. hope you get your test soon. how annoying will it be if you have to re-take your theory. i think i'd give up. will it be your 1st test?

honeypot01 · 20/04/2005 09:54

i took my first test in April last year at Barnet, was so nervous, and he took me on a route where i had never been! so gonna book some more lessons as of next week.

Wot u got planned today? On another thread theres a meet up at Brent X during day, then to the kids soft play after on 12th or 13th May. If you're interested take a look. I havent met any of them but thought i'd go!

mummy2reese · 20/04/2005 10:02

honeypot01 · 21/04/2005 09:56

Morning, went on bounty, seems alright. Got my mate coming round later to colour my hair. Going out tom night to Cafe Elysium at Cafe Royal in West End, then to the club downstairs after. u doing anything? Hows Reece now, is he pushing himself up yet? Jordan goes to a day nursery 3 days a week, seems to be happy there thou a couple of weeks ago i wasnt happy with them as they called me at work at 3pm to ask Jordan to be collected because he was upset, when i got there he was fine, sometimes i think they just can't be bothered, they're good all over just little things which could be dealt with, afterall thats why they're there! Hows ur day today, u doing anything exciting? Looks like a nice day today and my lil man wants to go feed the ducks, he's on about a picnic, don't know if its that warm thou!!
