Hi everyone,

I'm going to be moving to Greenwich/Blackheath (not exactly sure where yet) on May 3rd and would love to connect with some other parents in the area - I have a 4 1/2 month old boy and we're going to be moving from Seattle so I don't know anyone. If you're interested in an early May meetup, let me know! Also, if there is a group that meets regularly from that area, I would love to know about it. Thanks!

Where shall we meet? Could do the Tea House in the middle, the playground (I don't know how many are bringing LO's) or under a tree in the flower garden - could be a bit harder to organise (have visions of lots of mums peeking under various large bushy trees)?

I will be bringing one small sweaty 4 year old straight from sports day........so my vote is Tea house (so I don't have to walk down the hill) or playground.

I'm pretty flexible too-shall keep a watch and will probably be able to do any day APART from 5th July!

I'm so excited that this thread has taken off so well! Beachy - the car is FAB and I'm loving my new found freedom. I'm driving up to Peterborough tomorrow to see my mate and her 2 kids and am glad to not have to deal with 2 hours of hot, sticky train rides. Anyway, I'll look for the new early August thread and plan to come whatever day works for everyone. If an earlier date is decided on, I'll try to do that as well! The tea house in the Greenwich park is a great meetup spot...

I just reread the thread and decided to propose an earlier meeting time - let's say, the Costa Coffee at Ottakar's in Greenwich across from the Cutty Sark (they have air conditioning and a decent toilet with baby changing facilities) for coffee/tea on Tuesday the 28th at around 1pm. Who can do that?

I'm still at work then, but the 5th July date is only a few days later.......

glad the car is working out, Jen.

I can do the 28th but not the 5th July-can you park in the park in the daytime?? If we decide to meet in the village then I always park in the hotel carpark(IBIS?).I will have a relatively well behaved three and half year old ds and a nutcase of a one and half year ds! Be prepared!! Perhaps coffee shops a good place to meet but not to stay for any length of time!

Oooooh - wasn't thinking about toddlers!! Sorry! I spend loads of time there as ds is 6 months and isn't moving around yet. Let's just go with the 5th in the park - and yes, there is plenty of parking at Greenwich park through the upper Blackheath gate - a bit pricey but worth it to not climb the hill... However, if anyone does want to do the 28th I'm happy to entertain other locales!

So 5th July, Greenwich Park, Tea house (garden out the back) for ice cream and coffee at about 10.30 ish. Does that work?

The Tea House is on the main road in from the Blackheath gates and is on the right if you are looking at the statue of General Wolfe.

You can park for free near the Maze Hill gate and walk across, if you fancy it.

I might be walking over from ds's sports day, which I think finishes at 10.30 so it might be 10.45 or 11 by the time I drag my huge pregnant body there (if it is too hot, I'll bring the car!)

See you

That would be 5 feet and some inches then. Still can't get used to this imperial measurement bit, I grew up with cm and m. (And here's me...a maths teacher)
