Not a local but lived here a long time. Got loads of great friends but feel the need to meet some new people- anyone fancy a get together in/ near Huddersfield?

BW, sorry you can't make it but don't worry - life just kind of gets in the way sometimes!Do you want to suggest another date? At the moment it's only me and CarrieG definates- I'll see if she still wants to do Thurs or another day.Enjoy Brownies!

CarrieG - seems only you and I now.As you can see Bogwoppit can't manage now and I'm not sure what's happening with Yorkiegirl- I don't think she's committed to Thurs 28th as I know lots going on for her at the moment.
Do you still want to meet up or would you prefer more company/ another date?

Hi YG. good to hear from you. I thought you'd be unsure at the moment, totally understand (hope it's going ok)
It seems this Thurs is turning out to be difficult for most so lets say we'll leave it for now and I'll try to fix a date again in a couple of weeks.
CarrieG- hope you check this before Thursday, we'll postpone for now.
Anyone want to try a new date?

CarrieG · 27/04/2005 17:53

Hiya guys...was just nipping in to suggest a raincheck actually - got lumbered with a parents' evening by a daffy colleague, won't be leaving work tomorrow till 8 at the earliest!

Never mind - shall we do it in a couple of weeks?

maturer · 27/04/2005 19:18

Hi CarrieG,
Seems like we are all destined not to meet up this week....something about life getting in the way!!!!
Shall we try Thursday 12th May , same place- Head of Steam, Huddersfield, 8pm...ant takers?

OP posts:
CarrieG · 27/04/2005 20:40

Well, I would, but BIL up for the night - suspect I shall be going for a family curry in Kebabeesh, which makes it a bit problematic as not seen BIL since New Year...19th maybe?

My life is not normally this frantic btw!

maturer · 04/05/2005 22:46

Hi CarrieG,
got a bit worried you may be at my son's parents evening - same night as yours!!!!
Anyway 19th May would be fine for me (at moment)Anyone else?

Hi GB, good to hear you're still with us. Hope all is going well.19th never got finalised, kind of died a death. I think life just got in the way- as it does! However we could try and start a new date/ place/ time to aim for any suggestions?

OP posts:
CarrieG · 20/05/2005 21:54

It did, & I'm so sorry - should at least have popped in to say I couldn't do it (Dh band rehearsal...). How about next week or the week after?

maturer · 21/05/2005 17:41

Hi carrieG, don't worry about last week we never actually made a final date!
I'd love to try next week (subject to getting a sitter- dh working in USA for 3 mths!! so experiencing being a sibgle parent family for a while)Shall we aim for Thursday 26th or the following Thursday (half term here)? Anyone interested- graneraybeck, bogwoppit, yorkiegirl?
Let's have suggestions please.

OP posts:
Bogwoppit · 26/05/2005 15:15

maturer · 17/06/2005 22:34

Hi Gb, good to see your still with us. I've been offline for a while as computer crashed..nightmare (when you first get one you think I'll never use that, then suddenly you depend on it for so much!)
Shall we try again, forget the false starts...life getting in the way...any suggestions anyone time, date, place? would love to get together.

Anyone from Holmfirth?

maturer · 20/06/2005 22:50

Hi MMommo,
Nice you joined us. I'm not from Holmfirth but live the right side of Huddersfield for it to be easily got to. Infact I worked there for a couple of years so did the trip daily, so it's not far for me. it's also quite good for places to eat/drink.
beentrying to arrange a locals meet uo for some time but keep getting false starts..life and children and work kind of getting in everyones way!
Would be nice to arrange a get together, any ideas?
