Hi all,

I'm new to Dorset and would love some mums advice to help us choose where to move to. I have 1 year old twin boys which I look after full time and would like to move to a town which has stuff to do, mums and baby/toddler groups etc as I am really isolated at the moment! We are thinking of Shaftesbury or Salisbury but I don't know either place very well. Can anyone tell me what they are like from a 'mum' of 1 year olds point of view? Or any other suggestions??

Both these should be able to talk to you about what is on for chilren and families. I dont live in Shaftesbury but have been to the childrens centre which is nice and new and seemed to have lots going on. Not sure about schools/pre schools and nurseries but family information service should be able to give you names then you can look at ofsted reports etc.

I dont know Salisbury at all really apart from the shops! (which there are plenty!) It is a city so obviously bigger and potentially more facilities and choice of things to do. There are some nice villages on the outskirts.

Hope this is of some help
