London lunch or dinner in May?

hello everyone

it seems like forever since the last big london meet up at the end of november.

just wondering if anyone would be interested in meeting up for lunch or dinner in may?

have to confess i have dates and venue in mind already!

dates...

lunch or dinner on sat 10th may

dinner on fri 23rd may
lunch or dinner on sat 24th may

i thought we might go to a turkish place i went to recently near oxford circus. for groups of 10+ they do a set menu for a cheap(ish) £18 per head. you get a good variety of starters to share, a choice of main courses and dessert, and there are reasonable vegetarian options.

based on views expressed before previous meets, i was thinking separate bills for food and drink...!

well, if that doesn't appeal there's always pizza express!

will look into it but i think their maximum group booking is 25, so if there is a lot of interest, it might be first come, first served - but i think i'm getting a little ahead of myself!

anyone up for it?

Ooh count me in! I'd love a good girly night out! Never been to a meet-up before, are they fun?

willow2 · 03/05/2003 00:01

No Sambom - they're bloody awful, that's why we go on them

bossykate · 03/05/2003 18:05

hello everyone.

of course, sambom, no problem. the meet-ups i've been to so far have been a lot of fun!

dropped in today and got the lowdown on finalising things with them. i will need to confirm numbers in the preceding week and will have to put down a deposit of £10 per person. therefore i will be chasing for final confirmation in ten days/a fortnight's time or so.

some other points.

the price is £18 per person plus 12 1/2% service charge.

it consists of a first course of a selection of meze, many if not most of which are vegetarian.

in terms of main courses, there is one totally veg option and one fish option. however, they might be able to do extra veg options if asked, so please let me know if you are vegetarian.

dessert and coffee included - drinks not of course! but i will be asking for alcoholic drinks to be put on a separate bill so that the non-drinkers don't end up forking out.

ideal for those with hearty appetites, there is a lot of food from what i remember!

see you all then!

Willow2 I'm gonna ram you with my trolley in Waitrose if you don't watch out

willow2 · 04/05/2003 16:41

Even better, we could meet up at Mothercare world and let my ds go mental with the kids trolleys there. Having wiped out half the store last week he now wants to go there at any opportunity.

Ps - would be nice to see you at any of the meet ups!
