Right ladies. I'm back, I've just got myself a lovely new necklace from Rozelle market and my sister's over for 2 months and wants to meet you all. So we have to organise meetup no 3 asap.

Hows the next month looking?

ND - you still coming in November? If so, lets set up a "Welcome Home" one for you too (by the way, looks like we're staying in Balmain, so you've got an excuse to sneak out and have a cheeky one with me on a regular basis).

Hooray!

I have an empty month so far but would prefer Fri/Sat night. Or Saturday avo into evening?

I like the food plus wine idea (but no fishy mash please).

Hooray once more!

sunnydelight · 23/09/2008 06:38

What about Saturday arvo? Afternoon drinking always feels more decadent (and I have some chance of DH picking me up from the train station later )

ninedragons · 23/09/2008 09:01

I'm back on the middle Monday of November, I think it's about the 17th. Very pleased you will be local - I feel dead efficient, having lined up a friend before we've even arrived. I am on a whirl of efficiency at the moment, which unfortunately for my DH means I've sold the furniture that he stores his clothes in (mine are in a heirloom Burmese piece that will be shipped), so he doesn't know it yet but this weekend people are coming to pick it up and he'll be keeping his undies on the floor for the next seven weeks. Luckily he is a tolerant soul. I have also sold the spare bed three weeks before my brother arrives for the Formula One, but I think I can negotiate on delivery time there.

Yes yes, do line your stomachs.

ViolentFemme · 23/09/2008 09:22

Ok can I suggest the Saturday afternoon of 11th Oct or 18th Oct, which leaves a few weeks recuperation before our "Welcome Home Ninedragons" meet?

Or is that too soon?

C'mon ladies register your interest!

sunnydelight · 24/09/2008 08:49

I can't do the 18th and I'm already off on a girlie day on the 5th ("High tea" at a posh hotel in Double Bay and I SO have nothing to wear!) so disappearing on the 11th as well might just be pushing it a bit. DH has seen me stagger home too many times after Brighton MN meets so he's not going to believe I'll be back in a couple of hours. Could I bid for the 25th or does that not work for you VF?

ViolentFemme · 26/09/2008 00:48

High tea in Double Bay/Double Pay? Get the Gucci handbag out love!

25th is good for me.

suzywong · 26/09/2008 00:55

when Olive Oil comes live in Perth at the end of this year we will be fabricating hosting the poshest fanciest most high-falluting meetups in the southern hemisphere so nerr!

why is this such a colossal country with other cities many days by canoe away?

MrsJohnCusack · 26/09/2008 03:00

wong
if my friend moves to Perth, as she is considering, I will certainly be over sometime soon.

ghosty · 26/09/2008 03:17

yeah wong ... DH is threatening to take us to Perth so if we come we will come and stay with you ok and then you can stop going on and on and on ...

MrsJohnCusack · 26/09/2008 21:36

we've scared her off now...

ViolentFemme · 30/09/2008 11:11

C'mon ladies, anyone else up for it?

oceana · 01/10/2008 01:49

Hi everyone. I would love to join you but I can't make 25th (it's DH's birthday weekend and the in-laws are here...oh the joy) Is anyone on the lower north shore?

arfishy · 01/10/2008 02:28

OMG. I was loitering about on the Melbourne meet-up thread and all the time there was a Sydney one?

I've been to the Double Bay hotel!! It was veh posh. I have been hobnobbing with friends of the stars there .

Double Bay is veh posh actually. I've been to Pink Salt a few times. Their apple crumble cocktails are gorgeous and the food is amazing.

I am free between now and 4th December.

Ah, actually 11th Oct probably not too good. Have to be on the beach at 8am the next day for the first nippers.

25th is a much better idea.

SW why don't you fly in. Gwan - it's only 5 hours away

ViolentFemme · 01/10/2008 11:46

I'm sure you'll get a deal on jetstar sw! Hey arfishy welcome to the sydney thread. 25th it is. Right what's the plan?

ViolentFemme · 01/10/2008 11:49

Sorry oceana I just read your message ... we could push it back a week?

oceana · 02/10/2008 04:14

Oh don't worry. If everyone else can do 25th I shall just have to be green with envy thinking of you guys having fun while I am enduring enjoying the in-laws. Hopefully I will be able to join you next time...and hopefully you won't all be too cliquey

brightongirldownunder · 02/10/2008 15:12

Think I may be in Byron then me ladies. Have to admit I'm going off the booze now my sis is here. She got me completely bladdered last fri at the opera house bar - I ended up being rather ill. God it was embarrassing - she's only 23 and was scraping me off the pavement.....
May have to wait till the dragon arrives on Balmain shores.

OP posts:
sunnydelight · 04/10/2008 08:21

Is that you'll be in Byron on the 25th or the following week brightongirl?

brightongirldownunder · 04/10/2008 15:40

that week sunny d. One day we shall all meet I'm sure.
Anyone heard from MrsBigD?

Arfishy - you is so posh, friends of stars eh? Do spill...

OP posts:
brightongirldownunder · 04/10/2008 15:41

Sorry Sunny I meant week of 25!

OP posts:
arfishy · 05/10/2008 07:31

LOL. I couldn't possibly say, that would be gauche [uses posh persona].

They got married at the hotel in Double Bay when it was a Hilton. I'm still in shock at how much they charged me for a glass of champagne there so I am at how much their wedding must have cost.

Last time I was at their huge house she helpfully pointed out that the wine glasses were some outrageous $$$$ amount each. Which ruined my evening as I always turn into Hyacinth Buckets clumsy friend whenever I pick up something of value.

I haven't seen MrsBigD around for ages now you mention it.

Better go. DD is creating a leg massager and hairdo creator out of a wine club box. Which says rather too much about our family life tbh.
