Ermm.... does it ever happen, and would it be a GOOD or a BAD thing ?

That's me! hello

romantick · 23/01/2005 10:12

dont mind this site as it opens up your eyes

Lonelymum · 23/01/2005 10:13

Oh OK WMF. I thought you were propositioning me for a moment! But you meant Galaxy. That's OK then! [smile}

Lonelymum · 23/01/2005 10:13

Bum Meant

galaxy · 23/01/2005 10:14

"Don't mind this site"???? Surely you meant to say "I love this site"

wheresmyfroggy · 23/01/2005 10:14

propositioning this early on a sunday morning!? Not me

hub2dee · 23/01/2005 10:15

I am very new to MN but one of the interesting questions is whether it would be a better or worse place with more male involvement.

Whilst one side of me thinks every dad should explore this phenomenal community / resource, it is distinctly possible that could somehow spoil the 'specialness' a bit, IYSWIM.

Hmmm. Me, romantick, jmg1, Tom, DaddyCool and 25,000 women

OP posts:
Lonelymum · 23/01/2005 10:16

And BigGayDad surely?

hub2dee · 23/01/2005 10:18

Erm, yeah, if I went to a meet, Dee plus whatever sprog happeneth in July / August this year would cometh too.

OP posts:
Lonelymum · 23/01/2005 10:18

Also, don't forget, many of those 25,000 women have a dh or dp breathing down their necks! Not sure how my dh would feel if he knew I was talking to men as well as women (not that I would give a t**s anyway!)

galaxy · 23/01/2005 10:18

I think there's only been 1 male in my town of being on mumsnet that has been arrogant, offensive and a complete shit on here. I don't have a problem with men posting and being on meetups.

My dh was a single dad for 3 years and he may have found mumsnet a great support had he known about it. He would also have been snapped up by eligible women and a meet up

wheresmyfroggy · 23/01/2005 10:18

Hey dont leave me out hub2dee! Who is Tom? never seen him post,
There is also biggaydad, daddypops and rockdaddy

Lonelymum · 23/01/2005 10:19

Do you all have a secret thread hidden away at the bottom of the topics page?

fairyfly · 23/01/2005 10:20

Turn up the bass

galaxy · 23/01/2005 10:20

My dh was a bit put out when I said I'd met jmg but when I explained jmg's circumstances and that it was with other families he was fine about it. That's understandable to a certain degree and if he was posting on a men's forum, went on a meetup without me and met women I'd think it a little odd. I think if you include your partner that's different. dadslib just slagged off his partner and his life and chose here to vent his anger.

hub2dee · 23/01/2005 10:21

Lonelymum, one more ? Do you know that means we each lose about 1000 women each. LOL.

Sorry, BigGayDad, I am too new to know all the blokes, plus the probably dozens of lurkers wondering whether they will get their keyboard slapped if they venture out into the forums

OP posts:
galaxy · 23/01/2005 10:21

bearinthebigbluehouse

fairyfly · 23/01/2005 10:22

Muggle

wheresmyfroggy · 23/01/2005 10:22

stuartc

galaxy · 23/01/2005 10:23

who's muggle?

Lonelymum · 23/01/2005 10:24

Who? Who? Who? Where do these men post? Must be on the most boring threads ever as I have never come across them (and I am more or less 100% tied to Mumsnet these days.

Lonelymum · 23/01/2005 10:26

Must be the Wine Club threads. No-one has posted there since 20th Nov.

galaxy · 23/01/2005 10:26

I don't think they post often. I've only seen stuartc once recently and he got a telling off for this post. Can't remember what thread it was on now. Oh yes I can, the circumcision one.

wheresmyfroggy · 23/01/2005 10:27

Any thread talking about cbeebies babes or music and you usually find a few of us

Well me and biggaydad anyway

Lonelymum · 23/01/2005 10:28

How do you set up a website? Dh has just been sacked and I was just thinking if there is no such thing as Dadsnet, maybe we could make some money setting it up!
