ds is 4.5 an dd is 8 weeks. I am lucky in that I am not really shy and will talk to anyone (yes, it has got me into trouble in the past!). When we moved here I attended all the mother and toddler groups and saw the same faces at them so gradually people started to say "hello" to me and to chat. Things went from there really. I find most people are really happy to talk and to be invited for a coffee etc, most people are naturally shy and want someone else to make the first move.
got to go - dh wants some attention but spk soon.

Time? Meeting place? What if it chucking it down? is there a plan b?

bunny2 · 26/01/2005 16:12

11.00? cafe is a good place in case of ealry/late arrivals. Rain??? Starry, it will NOT rain on a Mumsnet meetup, it simply wont!

Sorry not to make it in h-t, - if anyone fancies a weekend meetup then let me know, otherwise I'm most definitely free in the Easter & Summer hols!

jessicasmummy · 26/01/2005 23:08

no probs!!!

Eve · 27/01/2005 08:22

I can do a weekend anytime, I have 2DSs who love the place!

(...as long as any of you aren't the lady with the dog that I had words with a few weeks ago for not having it on a lead on the play trail!)

starry · 27/01/2005 11:50

Eve - I admire you if you had 'words' with someone about their dog! I had words with a man at Man 'O' Bay bay in the summer about his damn big alsation that jumped and barked at any kids who squeeled or came near it. It lunged at my 2 yr old ds and the man called me a silly b*h when I asked if it should maybe be on a lead as it was scaring all the children. Well, I had severe words with him after that and threatened to punch the dog on the nose if it went for my ds again He got up and left shortly after.......

SPARKLER1 · 11/02/2005 13:19

Hi everyone - could someone please confirm the plans for this meetup for me? Thanks. Hope you're all well. xxxx

bunny2 · 11/02/2005 19:51

Hi Sparkler

I suggest we meet by 11.00 at the cafe - there are picnic tables outside at the back of the cafe. I'll be there by 10.45 if I can. Just after 11.00 we could do the play trail and stop somewehre for a picnic lunch and aim to have finished trail/lunch by 2.00 at the latest. Then we can head off or go to the playground / train ride whatever else.

Of course, should it rain heavily, then we should cancel so check this thread if you can on Wednesday morning.

Bring a picnic!!!

Who is coming?

Would love to come if the weather is good. If it is as cold as it has been the last couple of days I'm a bit hesitant. It's been really bitter. Shall see what happens. I know where you are going to be now and will check on here Wednesday morning. Will be really great to see you all again. xxxx

bunny2 · 15/02/2005 15:23

best to check here tomorrow - if the weaqther is crap we wont be going anyway as ds has a dreadful cold. Who is coming? Can anyone confirm? Dont want to go if alone!!!

OP posts:
amynnixmum · 15/02/2005 15:31

Not going to be able to come as I want the children to see my mum tomorrow. Its the only chance they'll get this week and then she's got chemo again so we won't see her for ages. Have fun

maltesers · 15/02/2005 17:33

Would like to meet you all, but it so cold at the mo and its quite a long journey for me. Had it been the summer a picnic sounds brilliant. Also my ds 4yrs has a nasty cough and cold. (really). have a good time there anyway. Does anyone want to meet up at Paultons Park in March maybe ?

starry · 15/02/2005 19:27

I should be there ds2 a bit poorly but as long as he is no worse tomorrow then we shall be coming so fingers crossed.
