More people for a curry and wine evening at mine! We must set a date soon. I'm in Chesham too!

jeanjeannie · 02/07/2008 21:26

Hello SuburbanDryad and Bucksmum....where have you been?!!

Oh, stop it...a girls' night out....I wish...I've got a 19mth and a 5 week old!! Yeah, loads of nights out going on here

You can come over to High Wycombe and partake of decaf tea, biscuits and juice...maybe go for a spin in a Little Tikes car!

Seriously though...definately up for meeting in the daylight hours...suburban, your LO is almost same age as my DD - where are you getting out and about to? What age are yours bucksmum?

Well, give us a shout if you're around and you fancy doing something or want to chat

bucksmum · 02/07/2008 22:10

my two are older 9 and 11 but I have loads of local knowledge to share!

plus3 · 02/07/2008 22:26

hello can I join in? We moved to Wooburn 2yrs ago and still don't really know anyone..I have a DS aged 4.6 and about to start school and a DD who was 2 yesterday!

theSuburbanDryad · 03/07/2008 12:19

JJ - erm, we don't really get out. Much. Or, at all. If we do we go to Zoomania at Aylesbury or the park, or maybe swimming in Chesham if we're feeling rich and the pool's free. We've even braved the outdoor pool once or twice. V expensive though - and we only stayed in for about 15 minutes as ds' lips started turning blue!

We have to be so careful with petrol at the moment so don't venture too much out of town - but would be well up for meeting up in Wycombe (no decaf tea for me thanks - can i have water or should i bring my own tea bags?? ) one week. As I say i work Monday, Tuesday and Friday so would have to be a Wednesday or Thursday. Would that work for you? I do tend to be climbing the walls by Thursday afternoon - and ds and i are usually well and truly bored of each other by bedtime!!

Hi Suburban, Bucksmum and Plus3!! Nice to meet ya! Glad there are more out there.

Suburban - My DS (20 months) and I live in Penn, so not far from you at all. We try and gad about as we can easily get 'cabin fever' is we're indoors for too long. I'm sure that if I check my DS's social diary, we can meet on a Wed or Thurs sometime soon!!

Bucksmum - As I said, Chesham isn't too far from us and you sound like the sort of Wise One who could teach us many, many things.

Plus3 - I moved from N London to live with my DP 3 or so years ago and I don't know that many people either. Your DD2 is a similar age to mine.

Happy to chat or meet if anyone is up for it!

Cor...us lot are a bit like buses...all coming along at once. Hello Plus3 - I only moved here a little over two years ago as well....do come and join us!

Suburban - Ooo an outdoor pool...you're brave. I've looked at our local one and immediately walked away And I know what you mean about petrol...DP has taken to turning the car off at traffic lights .... Oh, I just read your post again...AND you're 8 weeks preg..congrats

My MIL has my dd1 most weeks on either a Weds or Thurs...but I usually know the week before which it'll be. So yes, we can definately arrange something ...can't have your DS getting bored of you!

Chelsea - cool...we'll keep an eye on the weather and name a day.

I'm back driving (after c-sec) the week from 14th July - so if anyone is around after then give us a shout x

Califrau.....there's a blue plaque there to commemorate it

ThePrisoner · 05/07/2008 12:25

I remember watching the whole leisure centre being built.

jeanjeannie · 07/07/2008 21:02

Bump - cos I keep losing the track of thread!

jeanjeannie · 15/07/2008 08:37

Hi Chelseamorning. Well - I think we said a possible meet up this week. Weather doesn't look fab over not-so-sunny Wycombe and DD1 has been poorly but is rallying round today...well, she's climbing over the furniture rather than languishing all over it!

Are you around either this week - or next? MIL has DD1 this friday - so around all other days

Give me a shout and we can pop over to the Rye and unleash the little ones on the ducks and swings

Hope you're good and not totally fed up with the monsoon-like weather we've been having.

JJx

chelseamorning · 15/07/2008 14:18

Hey JJ

Hope all is well with you all?

Next week is probably better, to be honest. My parents have been visiting for 5 days and went home yesterday. I"m so behind in all my chores etc.

How about next Monday am? There's supposed to be 'Ecotots' on at the Environment Centre from 11-1pm. Not great timing for our little ones but perhaps worth popping in for a look? Otherwise, Tues pm or Thurs pm?

Hi,

Next week is better for us too...Iris is still looking peeky and very shouty!

Next Monday would be good - we do usually pop into Ecotots after a stint in the park. It's nothing particularly excting but nice to drop into and have a cup of tea ...Ooo and a biccie! There's also a nice small bunch of people there.

Hope you're all well....and you managed to get all your chores done...us mums get all the exciting jobs!

So hopefully see you Monday - we usually get there for 10 and have an hour running around.
Fingers crossed the weather is nice. Speak soon and a see you next week.

JJx

chelseamorning · 15/07/2008 22:22

Fab, JJ. Never been to Ecotots so if you don't think it's worth it, I'm happy to skip it. There was a tractor on the Rye yesterday mowing the grass. DS would have been happy to watch it for hours if I'd let him.

Hope Iris is feeling better soon. Not much fun when they're under the weather.

The chores are gradually being ticked off. Funny but I spent all my time when my parents were visiting cooking. I guess that's why I'm so behind. I always have great expectations when they visit to get loads of stuff done while they look after DS but somehow it never happens.

Anyway, looking forward to next Monday. Have a good week, JJ.

Hi ChelseaM

glad to see you're getting through the chores. I recognise that description of a family visit...always seem to be serving up some kind of food!

Ecotots is ok...good for the kids to run about and for us to get tea and a biccie
I usually pop in if i'm at the rye...and nice elderly ladies make sure the LOs don't escape!
Think we should give it a whirl...just a shame it starts late.

We saw the tractor too...although Iris hasn't seen the attraction of them yet....it's not pink and sparkly !

Well, see you Monday...in the car park about 10..? I can be identified by my orange phil & teds buggy and a harrassed look! Oh, and my name is Jean.....imaginative MN name eh!

chelseamorning · 18/07/2008 13:34

Hey JJ

See you Monday about 10 then. If I was to say I have a grey Maclaren buggy, it wouldn't single us out. We both have blonde hair but that's not much help either! And I'm Jo.

Cool - see you there,

I'll probably loiter outside the steps to the eco-centre.
