Hi there - am liking Cambridge v. much, but am finding it pretty quiet. I think that's as much to do with the other change of lifestyle (first baby)as with the move. But I had been in London for ten years, and was very happy there, and all my friends are there...so, I'm trying to settle in, but it would be good to get out a bit more (my once active social life has dwindled to the occasional visit from some glamorous London friend who's never had baby-sick on them and never intends to...).

I live near Cambridge, my dc are older thou and at school. Maybe I could rent-a-toddler to bring so I don't feel left out!

JingleyJen · 18/02/2008 18:09

ooh thread seems to have died...

any more for any more or should we just get something planned? Think I noticed a few peeps mentioning the were in Cambridge on various threads today.. but I know meet ups aren't everyone's thing.

I live in Saffron Walden, moved here a year ago and would like to meet more people. I could get to Cambridge, soft play sounds good. Have 2 year old DD.

JodieG1 · 21/02/2008 18:36

I'm in Cambourne and have 3 dc's. Dd 6 in a few days, ds1 4.4 and ds3 13 months.

I have only been to cheeky monkeys, and it wasnt very big. Is funky fun better?

how about on a friday early afternoon?

thegrowlygus · 24/02/2008 12:23

Hello! I am in Cambourne!

Have 2 boys, age 3 and nearly one. For them Cheeky monkeys is better as it is a bit smaller, although they like the Funky Funhouse too.

DS1 is obsessed with the 'good park' which is the one at Newnham. Although obviously only good if the weather is nice!

thegrowlygus · 24/02/2008 12:25

Cheeky monkeys is shut on a monday.

Hi all, I am between Cambourne and Cambridge, it would be great to meet up with some MNetters. I've got 2 older kids, 9 and 11, so if anyone else is at that stage it would be interesting! Any chance of an evening do maybe? (Once I've sorted out my babysitting hell..)

ratbunny · 24/02/2008 12:42

shall we go with cheeky monkeys then first of all, then go for a night out if we can all get babysitters?

so dates....
any friday early afternoon is good for me.
can't do tues / weds all day, nor thurs am.

JingleyJen · 24/02/2008 16:49

I am in Cambridge to, there have been a copule of meet-ups before.

Hey cazzybabs- haven't seen you around in a loooong time! Is carribeanqueen still about?

Prufrock · 24/02/2008 17:20

OOh a meet-up.

Can I take some kudos for (as a smug old-timer) having organised the first ever Cambridge meet-upabout 3 years ago? Which was just me and serendippity. We had a "blind date" at the railway staion and proceeded to get very drunk together!

I'd love to come along - I can make both those Friadys with my 3 year old boy, though I'd have to leave at 3 to pick up dd (5). I know Cheeky monkeys well and can recommend it for all ages - and Mel's toffee tiffin is worth atrip by itself.

JingleyJen · 24/02/2008 18:03

So where are we up to with names and potential dates..

Pru if you are an old hand at this how do we make sure this gets off the ground?

OP posts:
ratbunny · 24/02/2008 19:36

cant make the 29th, but the 7th is good

cazzybabs · 24/02/2008 19:41

Hello you too...don't know about CQ - I'll do a search now and see if I can find her...

BTW I am up for cheeky monkeys but it would have to be afternoon

cazzybabs · 24/02/2008 19:51

According to the search thing on here she hasn't posted for at least 2 years. Are you still here?

Prufrock · 24/02/2008 21:19

Last time it was only 2 of us who lived here so it didn't actually take much organising!

Easiest way to do it is for someone to be bossy and specify dates, then everyone else add their names to the list for those dates. So as you have done the first bit jingley...

Prufrock · 24/02/2008 21:21
