browny dialysis takes out alot of the toxins that are circulating in the blood more efficiently than the kidneys and for that reason the blood/body can easily become deficient in alot of essential salts like potassium and sodium which are really important for the electrical impulses. this can cause irregular heartbeats and heart attacks if not monitored and corrected and also if the levels build up too high then the same effect is noticed iyswim if they decide to leave him for 3 days between dialysis they may have noticed that his body isnt retaining the essential salts for long enough and so are expecting some heart problems. if the levels are better after 3 days wait then he may go to 2-3 dialysis sessions a week and so would be eventually able to go home and just visit the day ward for his treatments. hope that helps you in some way and he is on the mend soon xx

Mrsei thank you for explaining that to me, I'll tell my dh what you said, it helps to understand what's going on with his treatment, wish the doctors would take a few minutes to explain it to us though. Looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday, what shall we bring for dinner? Shall we have a little list and put items by our names so we don't all bring quavers?.

Ei - that was a very interesting post. You are very good at explaining things. It must be very scary and frustrating for you Browny and DH when none of the medical staff takes the time to explain what is happening.

Right for wed - I'm gonna do a bucket load of cocktail sausages (DD1's fave) [waves 2 fingers at Jamie Oliver!], fruit (DD2's favourite), tuna sandwiches (cos you can't live on sausages and fruit) and flapjacks (my favourite). Probably a few other bits and pieces...

how is your FIL getting on browny i am happy to help in any way i can and if i dont know something i will find out for you through one of my doctor friends
jaamy i was goin to bring some chicken bites in tomato saucy stuff (sian seems to like them) gingerbread men (sians 2nd fave) and some tear and share bread (choc chip yummy) or garlic bread depending on what is in the shops when i go on tuesday!!
i managed to pilfer some paper and scissors that cut fancy edges from my mum and she hasnt noticed yet so i am in the clear for now... i did resist the urge to take the spoons though!! LOL
how is everyone else??

LOL at thought of EI in burglar gear and swag bag at DM's house. Your poor mother! How have you got on this weekened? No luck here, I'm afraid. Think we're in for the long haul like we had waiting for DD1!

jaamy nope no luck here either after a few BFNs AF turned up today so back to the grind for me (no pun intended honest) i would put a bet on that when you get your BFP i will too LOL

hello all!....eerrr anything i need to bring??

we got woken up @ 3.30am by our house alarm as there is a fault when we came home last night as now and again one of the living room walllight blub blow it seems to trip the house alarm now and again!!!!! so Dp just thought he#ll turn the alarm off and sort it out in the morning but the alarm was wailing at 3.30am!!! so ive lost nearly 2 hours of sleep!! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Morning girls, sorry about your AF's appearing Mrsei and Jammy, keep at it!.

Just to keep you up to date, we were at the hospital all day yesterday as the doctors asked to see us all , fil is not tolerating the dialysis anymore and his heart is failing, he has been given just a few days, he has been transferred into a side room by himself and is hardly conscious , they have withdrawn all treatment now so right now is a very difficult time. I don't know if I'll be able to come tomorrow (even though we'd have loved to see you all), but I'll let you know. Have a lovely day tomorrow in case I don't see you all.xx
