I think the best place to pitch up at the RE is going to be upstairs in the seated bit (the bit above De Beers, not the bit above Paul Smith), which is where they have most seats. The downstairs bit quite often gets used for functions. My mobile if you can't find us is 07703 166 263.

agree, based on last time's experience - alternatively if you can get out by say 5.15 we could meet somewhere and take the DLR from CW together - maybe the florist at the bottom of the various escalators (do you know where I mean?)

Ok. I have just managed to book myself to go to the Star Wars exhibition with my husband and sons tomorrow after school. The good news is that it is not so far from London Bridge, the bad news is that I have no clue what time I will make it for.

Can somebody please email me so we can exchange phone numbers? turkisheppers @ yahoo dot co dot uk

just bumping in case afrodizziac or granarybeck is around anyway. At this point booking is still for 8 people at 7pm - at this point looks like there'll definitely be 4 people on time, and 2-3 latecomers. Should be able to get away with this, but if anyone decides they can't make it and I'll ring / reduce the booking to 6 - fairly small place so don't want to mess them around!

eleusis · 18/01/2008 09:52

I don't think I'm going to make the drinks event, as I am coming from Chiswick.

But will definitely be at champor champor.

Jura, can you text me your mobile number? (assuming you still have my number). I lost my phone a while ago and lost your number with it.

Hi Guys,
I will be right on time today! We cancelled the trip to Amsterdam today as our early flight got cancelled due to heathrow situation yesterday so am coming from much more do-able Oxford Street instead.

QuintessentialShadow · 18/01/2008 10:47

lol, you did change your name then...

So, I'm pondering a radical change in the plan. i just might bail out of here early and come find you boozers at the Royal Exchange. Can somone direct me to it? Website? Post code? Anything? I have obviously never been there.

legalalien · 18/01/2008 14:15

closest station bank - come out the Royal Exchange exit (statue of Duke of Wellington on a horse) and Royal Exchange building right in front of you. idea is to meet on the mezzanine level.

The first horse has left the box and is cantering up the field in the general direction of bellinis

Thanks for organising this, LA. Had a lovely time, although I did doze off on the trin right past Sunbury. Furtunately, the line ends in Shepparton which is not far away, so hopped in a tax to get back home.

Will look forward to the next one.

QuintessentialShadow · 19/01/2008 19:54

Yes thank you LA, had a great time, fab food and fab company.

Well, glad you kind find some pleasure in my pain, oh sympathetic one. Actually, it saved my from having to walk home from the Sunbury station. So wasn't really bad at all.

Squiffy · 21/01/2008 08:46

Fab evening, and thanks for organising, LA. I was so tispy by the end that I'm surprised I didn't pinch the orgy picture and make off with it. Lurved the food too.

I will sort out a date for "mumsnetters go mad in the country" and post a thread soonish. Will also warn my local therapy centre to book out the whole day for London ladies (hot stones massage for £27 anyone?). See. Am not totally insane to live in the sticks (£155 taxi fares notwithstanding)
