If anyone wants to go then PLEASE GO AND TELL CD YOU ARE THERE IN MY PLACE.

I Finally found hotel accomodation and as usual booked my train ticket using the trainline who are normally very good when it comes to disabled travellers.

A few days before travelling they post you your ticket or notify you as to which station it can collected from. 2 days ago I ripped open an envelope from them but there as NO ticket.

The new regulations needed the size of my electric chair so I duly telephoned and was told it was 1 inch two wide and rules are rules so I could not use it. No problem I said I would use my manual chair. OH NO! According to the new regulations I would need an assistant, who could travel free! I spoke to my dh and he has said 'no' and was adament, (He did have a good excuse as he had planned a night out with the boys for a mates stag do). So I am stuck as my chair is 1 inch too wide. I was offered a car lift but my chair is far too heavy for the back axel and having sorted out her costs with the garage etc this was prooving very expensive.

The long and the short of it is I have decided to cut my losses now and I would much rather that CD either spends the money I transferred to her. for either to help balance the books OR to pay for another Mumsnetter she knows wants to go but is finding it to costly.

CD, the choice of how to use this money is entirely up to you. I know that you will make the right decission and my only request is that you ask Tech for a spellchecker,as I really can't spell!!

I am really upset about this and have nice red eyes, the only bit of good news I can tell you is that because I can not go in person there will be a 'Bunglie Bullitin' to those of you who want to know the latest good news about my children. Can I therefore ask those of you who do want to know to send me their email address, Mumsnet name that I would know them as, and I am sorry to ask but your real name so I know who has been told what without me accidentally telling my stepmother or any of their new adopted family who both read this board. Please send your details to; bungliepig{at}yahoo{dot}com.

It is very hard to believe that my son is 22 and next month (Jan) my daughter will be 21. This last year we have had ups and downs but I am glad to say that I am very, very proud indeed to have them both as my children my only sadness is that I missed out on their childhood and I often wonder how I got through those early years but more about it all later.

Have a wonderful party and please remember that I wish each and everyone of you a Very Happy Christmas and I am sorry I can not get B.R. to change their regulations just for me to join you all.
Love,
Bunglie

zippitippitoes · 25/11/2007 14:12

oh that sounds a real shame bunglie

theUrbanDryad · 25/11/2007 21:31

is anyone else going in on their own? i really don't want to walk in on my own!!

theUrbanDryad · 25/11/2007 21:48

just seen that the last train leaves Victoria at half 11. rubbish. i bet i'm the first one to leave....

LydiaTheTattooedLapin · 25/11/2007 21:54

I'm coming on my own.

Bunglie, where do you live? Can one of us come with you as helper?

QuintessentialShadowOfSnowball · 25/11/2007 22:09

I sadly wont be able to make it now. I have to attend a functin witn my husband.

Anybody want my ticket?

theUrbanDryad · 25/11/2007 22:32

wabbit - where are you staying? at your mum's or dh's club??

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 25/11/2007 22:37

[panics] We aren't actually supposed to be in possession of tickets are we??!

LydiaTheTattooedLapin · 25/11/2007 22:47

tUD - neither - I am staying with my baby sister's best friend who I have known for many years - we call her "sister number 4". She is 26. She has informed me that when I get back to her place, we are going clubbing

HeyThereBert · 25/11/2007 22:49

urban, you have to go home on the last train? that does suck a bit.

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 25/11/2007 22:51

Which reminds me, as I posted on my sad "excited" thread.. my sister plans to pull in the club after the meal.

I would thereby like, at this stage, to state a disclaimer:

Depsite fact that my sister is five years my junior, I am not in any way responsible for her, or her drunken/lewd/out of control/embarassing behaviour at any stage of the evening. Thank you.

HeyThereBert · 25/11/2007 22:52

hey bunglie, where are you? maybe one of can come and pick you up?

theUrbanDryad · 25/11/2007 22:53

can't afford a hotel - nowhere else to stay and dh wasn't happy about me staying in london overnight. (see my rant further down)

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 25/11/2007 22:59

Oh!! Bloody feck...

Have been reading down..

There must be a way around these issues.. can anyone help out Urby? Who can she stay with/share with?

And Bunglie.. what can we do about the (frankly, shameful!) Britsh Rail issue!

Let's do something.. in our usual Mumsnet fashion! We can't all make merry while some of our friends who wanted to come, can't make it!

HeyThereBert · 25/11/2007 23:00

cant go looking for rant now, am sposed to be logging off and going to bed... but that sucks. still, youll just have to get there early, wont you??
i think ill be there early.
is much better than walking into a room full of people all nattering and not knowing a soul!

SantaBeClausImWorthIt · 25/11/2007 23:04

Very, very sorry that I will not be able to come (I hadn't put my name down, but was hoping that I would be able to make it). I have the social life of a gnat usually, but next week I am out on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday already.

I hope you all have a fab, fab time!

MrsRecycle · 26/11/2007 10:11
