Have spoken to the venue this am, they have confirmed our booking!

They have changed their mind on the deposit (originally they said that they wanted £200 which I was happy to pay, now they say £10 per person which is their new policy for xmas parties)

I will need to collect the money by 25th September which is when I need to pay the deposit.

Once you have paid and I have paid over the deposit it will be non-refundable. Once I have paid the final amount (a week before the event) the whole amount will be non-refundable. You may of course find someone else to take your place if you can!

I'm sure I can organise a mini pre Christmas party meet up for you and then you can have a few mumsnet mates to come with... and of course your non mumsnet fried can come. But, I dare say we can get her hooked before Dec. 1st so she will actually be a mumsnet mate.

She is a great respecter of MN, don't get me wrong.. ..many a time she had asked me to ask a question for her.. and she has cried with laughter when I've sat her down to read a funny thread.. she's just not a great lover of the internet.

That's very nice of you eleusis. If BF is coming, I'll be ok though.. (waiting for her to see the text I sent her.. she is not a great lover of her phone either! !) and I will need to be saving my pennies to a jolly jaunt to London!
