Good luck with test though - I'd hate to have to take it now!!

winestein · 05/09/2007 20:44

Oh, blimey DON'T even think about driving to London if you will have just passed your test - seriously! Do as Wisteria suggests and book a train - the further in advance you can, the cheaper it will be!

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 05/09/2007 20:44

thanks wine! thats brill!!

wisteria, its terrifying, esp when i had a lesson today and broke the handbrake (ok i didnt brake it, but it broke while i was driving)

yeah train prob is a good idea, just dont wanna do tht on my own!!

  • My friend had a car once where the steering wheel came off as he was going around the M1/ M69 roundabout - now that was a scary moment....
mandymac · 05/09/2007 20:48

Hijack Alert

Winestein - Hello [waves] .

So you got back OK from your travels! How was it?

winestein · 05/09/2007 20:49

That happened to a friend of mine too Wisteria - he was "lucky" and just ploughed into some traffic cones (he was approaching roadworks)

winestein · 05/09/2007 20:50

You ALWAYS do this to me Mandymac!! I was just thinking I must ring you as we do need to do a sophisticated evening soon
How you fixed?

Wisteria · 05/09/2007 20:50

so was he.......in the same place?

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 05/09/2007 20:51

steering wheel falling off?!?! jesus i never thought there were so many dangers in your car!!!

OP posts:
Wisteria · 05/09/2007 20:52

the worst danger IME Stacey is 'MUM!!! I need to poo right now......' when you are on your own on the motorway....which I always seem to be (obviously my dcs don't do that anymore though)

winestein · 05/09/2007 20:53

Hmmm.. don't think so. Don't tell me he was called Steve though....?

Wisteria · 05/09/2007 20:54

nope! David that would have been toooo weird..

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 05/09/2007 20:55

wisteria, not looking fwd to that one as will be doing 2 1/2 (not including the roadworks, yawn) hr drive everytime i wanna see my mum! and at least 2hrs is motorway! arrrrgggghhh never thought about things liek that!

I could make one evening next week, Thursdays are always good - only Friday to get through if too much 'refreshment' is taken. I can get into town by about 8pm if thats any good?

Wisteria · 05/09/2007 20:57

Go when it is their 'sleeping time' and knacker them out beforehand. I trained mine to go 5hrs eventually..... practice makes perfect!

winestein · 05/09/2007 20:57

Thursday is a great day! I will switch to email

winestein · 05/09/2007 20:58

Ha Wisteria! Quite! I know the M69 roundabout - it's enough to test anyones steering wheel nuts and bolts!

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 05/09/2007 21:01

yeah when going to nans with mum we've always gone at night so they both sleep! although dont know ifthat would work coming here as i would ahve nowhere to put me and dd, ds has travel cot..but oh i dont know! its all so scary!
