Hi, we're free Friday 17th, though have to be at home between 12 and 1.30-2 for nap time (to ensure my sanity!)
A lazy suggestion: Rothamsted Park in Harpenden is pleasant. Enclosed play area swings etc, also large park for running round. No water or ducks though, but there is a car park next to it or on-road parking.
Can't promise any biscuits though.

missy - i think i know roughly where you are. we are moving near the fire station, opposite there on the crossroads is a row of shops and we are moving in further down from there. where abouts did you used to live? my day off is on a monday.

Oh i know where you mean. I used to live kirby road and then hawthorn close. Years ago now though.

Harpenden is good for me. Not as far either. Plus i can get snack from my step mums coffee shop! Lol

lemurtamer · 09/08/2007 20:54

Oh, which coffee shop? We're doing quite well here for them now: have for years bemoaned lack of nice tea places down south, having been spoiled for choice up north.

Looks lovely, we tried going in there last week but DS cried and cried, no idea why, so gave up. He's usually fine in cafes, will try again another time. Hope cafe is successful and stays.

Ooooh, I'm in Harpenden! May well be in London that day, sadly, but if it doesn't work out will deffo come along.

How on earth will we know who is from MN, though? Rothamsted is full of people in the school holidays, I'd hate to make an idiot of myself going up to strangers saying 'are you from MN?'. Esp. as it's my local park so there may well be someone I know in there...

Lol. Thats what i did at st albans when i turned up hour late. One group invited me for a chat anyway! Think we're going to try and swap numbers by email. As i'm not doing that again!

Report
McEdam · 10/08/2007 22:45

Oh, is someone going to use contact-a-talker to email via MN?

at nice people inviting you for a chat.

Report
missyhols · 11/08/2007 09:03

I know i thought so! Lol. I think we'll exchange emails on here. As you have to pay to cat and it didn't work when someone tried doing it to me?

Report
McEdam · 11/08/2007 09:39

Hmm, not sure I really want to give out my email addy on MN, tbh, esp. as I think some people I know in RL may be on here. I'm signed up to CAT so perhaps I could try CATing you, or you me?

Millseymum, am rubbish at giving directions so won't confuse you by trying, should be easy to find on Steetmap. Car park is on Amenbury Lane, walk towards sports centre and you're in the park.
Does 10ish suit everyone? Fine with me. I suggest we meet in the children's play area which is straight ahead up the hill if you're coming from the car park, or on your left if you come in through the front park entrance.
I'll wear a navy blue sun hat, and do the CAT thing if anyone wants my mobile number.

Thats about the time i get dressed! Lol. Dd can have nap in afternoon instead as thats usually her nap time. Can someone try to cat me. It didn't work last time.

Report
LMK · 13/08/2007 09:50

I haven't a clue what this cat thing is, but I'll be in the play area at 10, Emily and Sam hopfully see you there and nice if more people come....I'll be the one with Long brown hair and little girl with a peppa pig bag....Lisa xx

McEdam and Missyhols, I've done CAT thing to you but don't know when it'll be forwarded to you.
Missyhols, being new to this I didn't know how it worked, but have you given access on your preferences to accept CAT? Sorry if that's eggs and grandmothers.

Blimey that's high-tech. We'll have to rely on the old-fashioned technology of the blue hat then. Hope the weather clears up, not sure what to do if raining.
