Has everyone been over to put availab;e dates in Nanou's thread. And where is Nanou?

ComeOVeneer · 26/06/2007 11:11

Hi all just a quick post to get this onto my "thread's Im on". Wish me luck I am off to Ikea for some bits and peices, as dd has a play date after school and doesn't need collecting until 6pm yay.

lemonaid · 26/06/2007 11:16

And onto my "threads I'm on"...

rosmerta · 26/06/2007 13:13

hi all! How is everyone?

xoxo, we still need to arrange to meet up!

Kewcumber · 26/06/2007 14:18

I think the thread title should be "Acton to Z..." where locally starts with a Z?

eleusis · 26/06/2007 14:22

Oh yeah, good idea... apart from finding a West London town which starts with Z.

Kewcumber · 26/06/2007 14:28

could be a area not just a town - don't be defeatist - you just want Sundbury left in.

eleusis · 26/06/2007 14:37

"Sundbury"? There is a WestLondon town called Sudbury and another one called Sunbury. So Sundbury is bound to confuse.

sfxmum · 26/06/2007 14:52

well just back from pool and frankly dd out did herselfmy normally quiet and compliant girl decided she would not be wearing a swimming suit - fine but could have done without the screaming
then refused to be held and dragged herself around the pool where she had footing occasionally calling me when she lost it

also mostly refused to talk and communicated via mixture of grunts and cries
the little monkey is now asleep!

how is everyone then?

oh and apparently it is controversial to take child to festival, who knew?
maybe should start my own aibu thread

rosmerta · 26/06/2007 14:59

poor you, sfx! is she at least asleep or has she stopped having a nap now?

sfxmum · 26/06/2007 15:05

hi rosmetra heard you had a nice time in NY
actually i mostly found it funny but heck toddlers are mad
she is having a nap but is clearly changing sleep and nap patterns i usually just go with it but today really wanted her to sleep so i could have a coffee and catch up on emails, etc.

also she keeps asking when her cousins are coming to baby sit and mummy and daddy go awaycheeky she clearly loves staying with them

SushiMummy · 26/06/2007 15:06

We took DS to seedy music houses in Tokyo where bands playing bluegrass music (DH's taste!) when he was 3m and 12m. DS loved it! (It was quite late at night, too. Bad parents alert...)

2Cute · 26/06/2007 15:10

Boo!

sfxmum · 26/06/2007 15:12

i quite like bluegrass too have a few Gillian Welch cds that is.
my sister has taken hers children to Glasto since they were toddlers, i like taking her along to these things, it's what we do as a family

sfxmum · 26/06/2007 15:14

Boo yourself missy

2Cute · 26/06/2007 15:19

Hello every1 Hope all are well.

Rosmerta - How was NY???? Did you love it? Being a huge fan of NY I love hearing of others experiences. How were you both without DS? Details, details..... Happy birthday m'dear x

Paddle - Just read your post about what happened at he Lollipop I've had to have, shall we say "words" with a violent brat there in the past but his carer/parent was no where to be seen. Put the fear of God into him though Pushing is one thing but FFS punching?!

2Cute · 26/06/2007 15:21

I have NO idea of the bands you gals chat about. I'm more of a rap/hip hop/RnB kinda gal meself but we have to be VERY careful what we play around DS!

2Cute · 26/06/2007 15:22

Did used to like Smashing Pumpkins though is that rings a bell with you sfx?

sfxmum · 26/06/2007 15:24

lovely Billy

rosmerta · 26/06/2007 15:32

I used to like Smashing Pumpkins as well!

Hi 2cute, had a great time thanks. Did all the usual sights stuff. Was ok without ds though did have a little cry as we took off ! But he had a great time with his grandparents & he was happy to see us! My dad put a load of chocolate wrappers in ds's room to make it seem like he'd eaten them all, at least I think he meant it like that !

Just read back over the old thread and omg paddle, your poor dd. Tbh, I generally only go to Lollipop now when its nice weather as it tends to be empty then!

ComeOVeneer · 26/06/2007 16:24

Well I'm back. What possesed me to do Ikea when feeling lousy. I went for 3 specific things

  1. A certain CD cabinet (discontinued)
  2. A small round side table (out of stock)
  3. 3 beech shelves to finish off the units in my utility room (in stock but some dumb*ss had put them on the wrong shelf, so short of searching every single shelf with an overtired screaming ds I gave up).

So come home with nothing I went for (still managed to spend £50 on other stuff).

Oh well. Hope everyone else has had a better day than me.

rosmerta · 26/06/2007 16:32

Cov, the trick with Ikea is to ring up to check they have the stuff in store & then send your dh at about 10pm with the list (inc. codes) of what you want. We tried this for the first time about a year ago and have decided that, until they decided to do online sales, its the only way to do it!

sfxmum · 26/06/2007 16:34

they do online sales now
oh do you mean actual mark down sales?

rosmerta · 26/06/2007 16:36

No, I did mean ordering off the website, do they do that now?
