I know KC, frivolity is what I need. As well as being cross with myself for losing my tempre, I am just so cross I can't get him to stop damaging everything. I guess I was really lucky dd was so good in comparison, it is taking a bit of getting used to.

sfxmum · 28/06/2007 21:30

about saturday dh booked a plumber to service the boiler, don't think wife and child are required around such manly business

so we will see you sat 2cute and KC many thanks we will be ready in time

COV - be kind to yourself a little smack in the hand is not bound to scar him for life. nobody is perfect all the time and parenting is blinking hard

foxie sorry they are pissing around again

foxcub · 28/06/2007 22:15

Hiya

Thanks for your support sfx and comments Kew

Oxo - where are you??

am going to sleep on it before I plot my next move

CoV - don't feel bad. I vowed never to smack mine but they do occassionally get a tap on the back of the leg - very rare but the very threat of it acts as a deterrent {runs away before the santimonious MN police catch foxie and give her a lecture}. Its the stress that's the worst bit

Well gordon brown has appointed a foreign secretary who is young than me !!! Now I know I am getting old

Ds has his birthday party tomorrow - 15 small boys and DD at Snakes and Ladders

stepfordwife · 28/06/2007 23:03

cov - the thing is your ds will have forgotten about it almost instantly while, hours later, you're still beating yourself up about it..so, yep, give yourself a break.

i reckon nearly every day i do something i swore i'd never do and i'm sure there are loads more to come. thing is we're so busy stressing about what we've done wrong that day, we forget to focus on what we've done right, eh?

kew - hope ds's cough gets better. my lot have been spluttering away all week, too. nice..

Kewcumber · 29/06/2007 12:03

possibly he did Sushi but they get so many colds at this age who an earth can tell where they originate. I do try to avoid the really little ones like Foxcub but otherwise I guess it all builds up their immune system

rosmerta · 29/06/2007 12:15

Funnily enough, ds hasn't had nearly as many colds or things since he started nursery

SushiMummy · 29/06/2007 13:24

QC, if it's any consolation, DS recovered quickly, maybe within a couple of days. Hope your DS gets better soon.

BTW, is it only my DH finding impossible to locate Chiswick play cafe on a map? He even looked at Google earth map and couldn't find it. Could someone please give us detailed directions? We might try it this Saturday. Many thanks in advance!

Kewcumber · 29/06/2007 13:38

website with map Easiest thing is to park in Chiswick house car park off the A4 (westbound) and walk under the underpass.

SushiMummy · 29/06/2007 13:48

Thanks, QC! I will pass the info to my map-illiterate husband of mine.

foxcub · 29/06/2007 13:58

stepford did u get my test earlier?

pick up point is homebase, not my house

stepfordwife · 29/06/2007 14:09

foxie, i did, guv..
did text back. if not there on dot of 3.15 it's because they're a bit late out of school..
see you - furtive look over my shoulder - at homebase.

ComeOVeneer · 29/06/2007 14:11

You are testing us now are you foxy? Did she pass? Well Ds and I are friends again today Gin. I amm feeling very virtuos as I have just finished an hours work out whilst ds naps instead of the usual slobbing on mn, am off for a shower then doing my parental duty of helping out dd's school by selling ice creams in the play ground after school . Profitable? I think not

stepfordwife · 29/06/2007 14:13

lol cov...yeah, foxie, DID I PASS? gald you and ds pals again. bet the 'gin' helped!

stepfordwife · 29/06/2007 14:13

that is glad..not galled

quokka · 29/06/2007 14:19

foxy got a really cheap kitchen from ikea and put it together myself [proud emotion]. It was fab and I liked it better than my habitat one.

Talking of kitchens mine is a like small cupboard. Ours things arrived from London yesterday and I can't fit all my stuff in it . Dh has been working so have been handling everything myself as well as the boys! Had the window grilles put on today so can relax a bit and open the windows at last. Boys new bunk beds arrived and ds1 wouldn't sleep on the top, so is sleeping on the bottom with ds2. It took agaes for them to actually go to sleep but they finally did. Dh has just got home from playing golf since noon, yes he siad it was work . Still no oven, ahhhhh had 2 men come around twice and fiddle with wires, but fear they have no idea at all!

Agree that cpc os hard to find, but once you get there its is fab

Have to go shopping again for essentials, usually love it but shopping with 3 boys (dh included) is hard work.

Haven't had time to read any other interesting and very funny arse/sahm, wohm threads, hopefully dh will be around this weekend so I can read up

ComeOVeneer · 29/06/2007 14:21

Steppy I have been alcohol free since Monday night. Now off fot that shower. Please can everyone keep their fingers crossed it stays dry between 3 and 4.

foxcub · 29/06/2007 14:21

Quokka how cheap is "really cheap"?

stepfordwife · 29/06/2007 14:26

well done, cov. so have i! but must admit have got that it's-friday-i-want-a-glass-of-wine-feeling. wishing it dry for you (the weather as well as the wine..)

hello quokka

see you shortly, foxie (don't call me...)

quokka · 29/06/2007 14:28

Paddlechick666 · 29/06/2007 16:05

maybe I should join AA!

sfxmum · 29/06/2007 16:20

ele - was this your week off on full time childcare?

dh is bound to come home with wine tonight
just got text from him informing me he works with a bunch of exceptional idiots

foxie - hope party went well. there is some DT threat around promising nude video (should you need cheering up later)

all these home improvement talk has made me consider changing the flooring in most rooms, i really dislike carpet.
