Paddle I am off alcohol in a bid to be svelte and have a bikini bod for my hols in 6 weeks. I am already feeling the effects of my work out so may have a glass of red to "soften the pain" .

Kewcumber · 29/06/2007 19:48

Paddle I'm generally embarrassed to let people know that I barely drink every month, the last time I had a drink was (I think) the mumsnet meet up at my house).

Diet coke is soooo uncool.

2Cute · 29/06/2007 19:49

Very quick note so will catch up properly later.

Really sorry but I'm going to have to cancel the kids play date tomorrow, DS has a high temp and was sick. It might clear up by tomorrow but just in case best not take the chance of passing it onto your LOs. Now I have to drag the poor little monkey to Tesco as there's no bread or milk in the house.

Kewcumber · 29/06/2007 19:52

So sorry he's sick 2Cute - who was going? Do you want to come over to mine instead?

foxcub · 29/06/2007 20:40

Paddle - No you're not the only one who drinks

DS1s party went very well

sfxmum · 29/06/2007 20:49

hi 2cute i hope it is nothing and you both manage to have a quiet night and a good weekend.

for some bizarre reason dh booked plumber for 8am

dh is assisting dd in the bath, this mostly involves extensive decoration of walls with bath crayons. i am starting the wine

foxcub · 29/06/2007 21:43

2cute - hope mini cute is OK

Kewcumber · 30/06/2007 09:06

My mobile isn't working so call me at home or post if you're interested - I think it was sfx and foxie?

Kewcumber · 30/06/2007 09:06

sfxmum · 30/06/2007 09:38

morning all

kew thanks for invite but will pass today

we woke up today with dd yelling at us that the phone was ringing turns out the plumber was at the doorbut couldn't work out how to ring the bell

anyway think will try to get dh to take dd out so i can do stuff around the house and hopefully find a dry spell to go for a little run
also have a tesco delivery that is always fun

sfxmum · 30/06/2007 16:46

surprisingly none of that went quite according to plan

Kewcumber · 30/06/2007 19:53

if it rains all day tomorrow I may have to do an injury to someone

What on earth do you do with an active 18 month old in the pouring rain all weekend?

sfxmum · 30/06/2007 20:02

you cam always pop round here have some croissant and pain au chocolat for breakfast
i usually let the kid trash the place while i watch sunday am

Kewcumber · 30/06/2007 20:05

oh god that sounds brilliant what time? 7am too early?

sfxmum · 30/06/2007 20:45

i hope i am not awake at 7! pretty much drinking a bottle by myself tonightit was just too tasty to share, got dh to get one for himself if he wanted a drink

lets say after 8.30? we should all be sort of awake by then

ComeOVeneer · 30/06/2007 21:22

The weather is simply dire atm isn't it. Our lawn is getting wild with all this water and the fact it is to damn wet to get the mower out. I have just got ds to sleep (typically on a night dh is out an staying at his parents' house). The only way he will sleep these days is under a "tent" (a sheet drapped over his cot). AND we have the dreaded nits again (at least all of us apart from dh) so spent a fab evening treating the 3 of us (what an exciting life I lead ).

Kewcumber · 30/06/2007 22:01

lets be civilised sfx and I'll make it 9'ish

2Cute how's your DS?

Foxie where are you? Everything OK or are you jus exhausted after your party.

Paddle how was Feltham?

Thanks for sharing the nit story Cov - something for me to look forward to.

DS's cold is much better - however I now have it but hoping like his it will be fairly short-lived.

sfxmum · 30/06/2007 23:15

ok see you then

foxcub · 01/07/2007 09:07

Hiya - hope you had a nice breakfast meet yesterday

I have been making the best of the wet weather by having a mahoosive clear out - trying to clear some of the crap which is cluttering my house. My God, the clutter is taking over here....

Kew - your cleaner and her DH are coming over today to collect our tiles with me

Then after that, a kitchen cupborad replacement company is popping over to give us a quote

..so Kew, you are my mentor in my home as well as my workplace advice . What would I do without you

Am making enquiries about getting foreign language students in over the summer hols so have to tidy up anyway

Have been mulling over work situation

Think its worth me e-mailing saying what was the point of the internal meeting, if what was agreed in it is not going to be honoured - also pointing out that the core of the issue here is the breakdown in trust and that if the agreements made in that meeting are not going to be honoured, trust will break down even further?

Fuck them

excuse me.....[trots of to kick imaginary cat...well Ok I would never kick a cat, but maybe kick imaginary boss man]

MrsRecycle · 01/07/2007 12:57

Hi Foxie - talking of tidying up - I still need to pick up the stuff from you. I'll try and pick up it this week - we have df's daughter coming back today and our old AP and her bf coming on Weds so I should be able to nip over to yours.

Sorry to hear about work - they are completely a*holes aren't they? I was promised my P45 and money owed (from last year) this Fri from my last employer and guess what - nothing. But its their loss as I've just realised they owe me another 2 weeks money so if I don't get it, I'll be taking them to the small claims. Oh and I'm on emergency tax at the mo. Look after yourself thats what I say - all the times I was pregnant and spent worrying about work - for nothing.

How is everyone else? - busy I see!! The nits are a pain COV - conditioner and a nit combe thats all I use.

I'm hoping this wet weather will continue for the week and clear up for Sunday - ds is getting Christened and its back to our very small house afterwards. So if it rains we'll have 40 adults and 30 kids inside - very cramp indeed.

Mind you, its lovely at Camber at the moment. Sun is shining and my washing is drying.

Kewcumber · 01/07/2007 13:03

thanks SFX and DH for a pleasant breakfast. I'm normaly the only person up that I know on a sunday morning so it was nice to spend it with other humans! DS does like a bit of company sometimes. It was very odd though seeing a man wiping DS's runny nose (hats off to your DH that he did!) made me realise how much time he spends with women. Not a bit problme at his age but I must keep an eye on that as he gets older.

sfxmum · 01/07/2007 13:51

kew you are most welcome and we are near so feel free. dh is quite good with kids as evidenced by niece and nephew fondness for him even into their teens.

dh took dd to town now so i am reluctantly getting on with ironinglucky me

hi mrsR

eleusis · 01/07/2007 16:38

Hi everyone. Hope you are all well. I am officially on SAHM duties for the week. And doesn't it figure that I hae something at DDs school and have just read the bit about not bringing younger syblings. Oops! So I need an emergency babysitter from about 10:45 to 11:45 in or near Twickenham. How sttupid am I? Does anyone have any idea where I might find such a person. The morning at the school is to meet the reception teacher so we really ought to go.

sfxmum · 01/07/2007 17:26

i think mrsD might need some cheering up
here

eleusis · 01/07/2007 18:19

Oh please.... I was hoping for a response. You guys are my only hope for information at this eleventh hour. Does anyone know of a creche/childminder/nanny.... anyone who could give me just one hour of childcare. I'm happy to pay the going rate.
