my arse is big and clever

xoxo · 27/06/2007 11:58

...though clearly not that clever, ha ha

foxcub · 27/06/2007 13:00

Oxo

ComeOVeneer · 27/06/2007 13:07

Dare I sneak back on here after being party to thaat thread ?

Kewcumber · 27/06/2007 13:08

we are not thread'ist here Cov - we accept thread contributors of any sort.

2Cute · 27/06/2007 13:12

God almighty, I came on here for some 'intelligent' conversation and you're on a bout arses!

KewC - I meant to say cardboard book, same boat. (smart ARSE!)

I did find that thread rather funny and shocking as I didn't realise there was such judgmental cruel witches on mnet. I assumed they were all drop dead gorgeous, well mannered, kind hearted people like us! I was drooling over the SL maclaren Mercedes link though....oh to dream...

2Cute · 27/06/2007 13:12

"about" even

stepfordwife · 27/06/2007 13:16

intelligent conversation, 2 cute? you've come to the wrong place..

Paddlechick666 · 27/06/2007 13:16

afternoon all, 2cute I'm looking at 2 properties in Feltham on Saturday - Amesbury Road?

of course i'd prefer to stay around here and closer to the river but i've got to seriously consider value for money too. feltham might mean larger proportions and a garden over something on ivybridge for eg.

just been to view a vile vile vile property for £181k, reposession and disgusting! property developers' dream but not for me. i can do a few coats of magnolia but this would have been a complete fumigation job!!

ComeOVeneer · 27/06/2007 13:17

Now paranoid I am being classed as a judgemental cruel witch .

In my defence I wasn't Xenia bashing (never actually said anything personal about her, just my distaste at her attitude to SAHMs).

Anyhoo don't wish to drag it on to this thread, as this is certainly one thread on MN where we don't let the WOHM/SAHM issue rear its ugly head.

Paddlechick666 · 27/06/2007 13:18

ah CoV, I think you'll find that your devils' food cake exempts you from any judgemental witch comments.

Kewcumber · 27/06/2007 13:29

no you didn't say anything personal Cov and I think your points were perfectly valid, though shouldn't have been necessary on what started as a light-hearted thread!

Kewcumber · 27/06/2007 13:30

Cov are you saying WOHM have ugly heads , wanna make somthing of it?

2Cute · 27/06/2007 13:30

OH NO NO NO COV! I mean the two anti SAHMs 'women'. Your posts were good, made fab points without stooping to Xenia and her side kick's level.

Kewcumber · 27/06/2007 13:31

and I've never hd yoour devil food cake is it cos I am a WOHM? Is it? Is it?

2Cute · 27/06/2007 13:37

well QC you're part time so you can bat for both sides

foxcub · 27/06/2007 13:38

I've never had any either Cov!

Is it 'cos I is Ginger?

ComeOVeneer · 27/06/2007 13:39

None of you have had my Devil's food cake yet, due to my dead oven, so don't feel you have been singled out. New kitchen is being delivered on the 28th July, then should take 5 days (starting on the 30th) to install. Then I can bake again.

Kewcumber · 27/06/2007 13:43

Padlle I have a colleague who works on the Hounslow side of Hounslow heath and she likes it. Doesn't know much about the Feltham side though, I asked her.

ComeOVeneer · 27/06/2007 13:43

I agree my comments were not necessary on what started as a lighthearted thread, (and I was participating whilst it was still light hearted) however who exactly was it that posted the first non lighthearted comment?

2Cute · 27/06/2007 13:48

I don't know that road paddle. You'll get a feel for the place when you go. What I did when we bought our first place was go to the street a couple of different times, Friday/saturday evenings to see if it was a hang out place for ratbags and one property was, so I'm glad I did that.

sfxmum · 27/06/2007 13:57

hello again
back from more boogie tots, whats a sahm to do in this weather we also did playground in light rain much to dd's delight

steppie we have had rigid back it is the only time i make her go in the buggy, which does not happen if she objects reasonably

KC yes sorry do have new email will send it to you in a minute

about Xenia there is a lot i agree with her and a lot that i don't it is funny that she used Rachel Cusks' book on motherhood to justify how boring newborns are etc.
i read that because i needed to hear someone say it was hard work and it can wreck havoc with ones identity. we read and took very different conclusions from the book

goodness that was long

arse

foxcub · 27/06/2007 14:01

CoV am mega of you having a lovely new kitchen installed. I'm having to paint mine 'cos we can't afford to get it replaced until my lottery ticket comes up!

Kewcumber · 27/06/2007 14:05

no COv I said "shouldn't" have been necessary ie the commetns you replied to had no place being there in teh first place.

ComeOVeneer · 27/06/2007 14:08

Foxy, we have no choice. The sink and tap are bothed cracked and so leak into the cupboard underneath, the top shelf of the dishwasher is broken so can only use the bottom one, the oven has died (I can "heat it up t0 250 degrees C and comfortably stick my head in it), and the fridge isn't getting cold enough and has a huge puddle of water in it by the end of the day. Also most of the ceramic floor tiles are cracked. By the time we sort all of that out it isn't that much more to do the kitchen totally.
