Ele - what day is it for?

I could ask my CM if its her free day - but she is in Kew.

How old is your DS again?

eleusis · 01/07/2007 18:56

Tomorrow. Hence the panic. Have to be at Twickers green from 10:50 until 11:20. I could drop off in Kew if she is able and willing. Would probably need 2 hours to account for driving to and from Kew.

foxcub · 01/07/2007 19:21

eleusis · 01/07/2007 19:43

Sorry, was 2 in may, so 25 months now.

Kewcumber · 01/07/2007 20:12

Foxie - she has daniel and Oliver tomorrow and I think she's doing something wiht her daughter so doubt she'll be able to do it. If all else fails Ele - could you not just take him and explain to school that your babysitter has let you down?

eleusis · 01/07/2007 20:58

Oh Kew, school as are not flexible like that/. Don't be rediculous!!

Paddlechick666 · 01/07/2007 21:13

evening all, thanks for the coffee earlier QC.

Ele, what about the creche at the shopping centre at Kingston? Hobson's Choice I guess but I seem to recall he's been there before?

Sorry, can't think of anything else other than to contact Oxo direct, she had a neighbour who was offering babysitting services.

hope everyone else well. just had hour long convo with old Dutch friend who lives in USA. His 4yr old just been diagnosed with a form (low level non specific) autism.

off to Malmo on Thursday, anyone know the law on taxis and car seats?

ps: belated congrats to FoxCub1 on his Dr Who-fest birthday!

eleusis · 01/07/2007 21:17

I thought of that paddle, but there is a 2 hour maximum, and I'm not sure I could do the commute to/fromKingston in that time frame....

But, my panic is over because DH has just offered to work from hime. So he can have the little man whilst DD and I go off to school.

eleusis · 01/07/2007 21:18

What was I thinking when #i agreed to two weeks without a nanny?!?!

foxcub · 01/07/2007 21:49

Ele glad you've got something sorted

Paddle - I think generally your supposed to take your own carseat. probably a bit heavy though...

Might be worth calling the cab company and asking

mellow2 · 02/07/2007 07:05

Hello all,

How is everyone?

The weather has been rubbish hasn't it? I thought we're getting global warming and it was going to be baking summers from now on!

Anyway, here's the new thread for July.

We're off to Cornwall tomorrow for a few days so it's really disappointing that the weather is not better. It's a mad mad rush round her: laundry, packing, etc.

PC,

Children are not required by law to be in a car seat in taxis (black cabs and mini cabs) and any other short occassional journeys.

I took dd to Worcester Park the other day to see my friend and found out after we rang a few mini cab companies to take me to my friend's house from the station.

I wouldn't know what the car seat regulations are in Malmo though.

thanks mellow and foxie, will call some mini cabs today. depending on the price i might just cab it to hounslow picadilly line and tube it from there. car seat at the other end is sorted as friend is borrowing one for us.

am intending to just put dd on my back in a sling and not bother with a buggy. wish me luck!

foxcub · 02/07/2007 08:46

Good luck Paddle

Mellow of your 'lil holiday!

sfxmum · 02/07/2007 08:48

morning

paddle whenever we have taken dd in a mini cab we have used a car seat, just because i think it is safer.
black cabs allow you to just use the pushchair, which i think is ok for short journeys

Paddlechick666 · 02/07/2007 08:53

is Sweden the same as Scandinavia?

sfxmum · 02/07/2007 09:07

historically Denmark Norway and Sweden although other can also be included

Paddlechick666 · 02/07/2007 09:10

cool, my travel plug will work then

thank you!

rosmerta · 02/07/2007 10:50

Morning all , miserable weather again !

Paddle, we've just used the pushchair in black cabs before & that was ok.

Paddlechick666 · 02/07/2007 11:30

not planning to use the pushchair tho as friend has one at the other end and tbh, dd is mostly in the sling or walking these days.

just had long convo with boss about grade upgrade and taking up the extra day @ work - same boss as before who upset me soo much.

basically he questioned my ability again and made some arse comment about expectations being higher if i worked 5 days a week!

sooner he goes the blimmin better!

ComeOVeneer · 02/07/2007 12:28

Ele, sorry i didn't see yesterdays message, as I could have popped over to help with ds for a couple of hours. Has Nanou fallen off the face of the earth?

xoxo · 02/07/2007 19:52

Hi Guys
does anyone know of a nanny/ sitter free for Thursday from 9am-4pm? Or 9-1 at a push?
My lovely neighbour has gone back to uni for two weeks to sort out new house, and my nanny is on holiday and dh and I ballsed up the arrangements.

I am fairly desperate but only willing to go with your own recommendations eather than outside weirdos.

Sorry to pop in after big absence with a plea: will make it up to you all very soon with gossip galore

rosmerta · 03/07/2007 16:13

Hi oxo, I don't know anyone, sorry.

I'm getting so fed up with the rain, we keep having to dash in and out between downpours!
