Hi - moving onto Wattisham Airfield camp in August and wondered whether there are any mumsnetters living on camp?

I think it's the first quarter we've been to (6th house in 6 years) where I won't know a soul!

Hi. I didn't live on Wattisham camp but H was posted there until a year ago and we lived in quarters off camp. He's out of the army now, but we're still in the area so if you need any help or info ask away! he was in 3Regt AAC

Thank you Onedaysoon - did your dc's go to Ringshall primary and do you live locally now?

DH was posted there before we were married so we lived in Bury St Edmunds as that was where I worked so it will be very different living on camp - it's in the middle of nowhere!

DH is going to be with 71coy (7 Batt REME).

You could try posting this under the shiny new 'forces' sweethearts' section here

  • Army Navy and RAF mumsnetters should start to gather there soon......

Hi Luciemule. No my dc didn't go to Ringshall school: as they are Catholic I sent them to the RC school in Ipswich. We used to live in Hadleigh but are now nearer Sudbury.
I have to admit that the camp is pretty remote but there are quite a few things going on there. I hope you drive though!

luciemule · 15/06/2007 10:33

Oh yes - I drive!
I've recently asked the school if I can volunteer to get some experience before doing a teaching GTP and I also want to be a HomeStart volunteer so that should keep me busy to start with.

Where we are now is tri-force and not behind the wire so everyone just goes about their daily lives as if it's civvie street so was a bit aprehensive about being on camp again (and all the cliquy-ness that goes with it!) I can't be doing with all that!!!
