advice on community secondary schools please for West London and surrounding areas.

Hello everyone. I'm looking for some options for my son as he will in near future apply for a secondary school. Would anyone please tell me what schools you consider very good in state sectore and whether you always have to live in the area (say Richmond for Richmond schools). My son is more into computers, numeracy and science. Thank you.

i really don't know what to do. All my friends are thinking of private schools. Are there any decent schools in London where you can get if you are not living in the area of a school?
