well, it keeps us young, I guess, at least until the older ones have their own children.....

hi now 44, live in norfolk, have DS almost 3, not sure if he keeps me young or just wears me out still trying for a second

Live in Essex, born in 62 had dd (now 16 months)last year aged 43. Wasn't trying just started to feel weird - went off the wine - thought I needed HRT only to be told four months pregant!! Am completely cream crackered most of the time - but love being a mum. Only prob is some of the nans are younger than me !!! Don't think I'm brave enough to go for a number two for when I'm 45.

Hi, just had my first baby (a girl) 8 weeks ago. I am 40 and this is the hardest thing i have ever done!! I feel exhausted, confused and delighted! Don't think i will be having another (hmm) all my friends had their children long ago so i would love to hear from any other "older" mums out there.

Hi. Can I join this thread?

I had my ds in January aged 39 but since then have celebrated the big 40 (the "celebration" was in fact 8 new Mums and babes coming over for lunch!)
I know its old to be a first time Mum but I still feel as unprepared and amazed by it all as any twenty something would.

Loads of you born in 65, suddenly feel young!! Had first last year, had my 40th last week! Planning another one (baby, not 40th)! Enjoying every minute of it. !

Hello. New mumsnetter here. At last a thread I can join in with. I was born in '63 and had DD1 in 99, and DD" in 2003. (Date of conception around 40th birthday party )

wissyssis · 21/06/2007 19:23

Hi, I'm posting for the first time on Mumsnet. I was born in 1965 and my babies are nearly 11, nearly 8 and nearly 5. I'm well past the being 21 and expecting first baby stage, especially as I'm old enough to be my youngest grandmother! My eldest is getting early hormonal changes as mine are declining....not the best combination. Great to hear I'm not alone.

Born 1964, DS 12 and DD four months today

Lillypie - glad there is someone with an even bigger agegap than me. Get asked whether she "is mine". What else, granddaughter possibly?

Will have teenage years and terrible two coming up. DP will have hos mid life crisis and I'll be menopausal, what fun we'll have!
