I have 6 week old DT'S and a 23 month old DD and don't know anyone in the area.
I can't drive at the moment as i have taken all dh's speeding points and lost my lience

I would really love to be able to go out and just get a cup of coffee and have someone to chat to other than babies and my DH and parents.

All my friends are being really crap and have lost intrest since I had the DT's they see it as to much hard work to drive down to see me

I sound sad and lonely don't I? may be I am. (just a little bit)

Hi kneehigh

I actually live in Glasgow, but I'm from Herts and will be down visiting my Mum with the DSs quite soon as we're having some work done on our house and need to get rampant toddler out of the way. I'll let you know when it happens and if you haven't found some company for coffee by then we'd be happy to pootle over to HH and brave the hideous roundabout.

Kneehighinnappies · 10/05/2007 15:52

thank you for the offer midnightexpress that would be great, our rampant toddlers can cause mayhem together!

Let me know when your around, email me on elana dot cooper at ntl world dot com and we can arrange a date time and place.

Thank you so much for the bumps escape

Hellooooooo! I'd love to meet up for coffee or whatever, dd is 1 yr, d? arrives later in the year. I'm just along the A41 from HH, probably about 20 mins away. Our car is poorly at the moment, but will hopefully be up and running again soon. Love the name btw.

bobsmum · 10/05/2007 21:20

Kneehigh - I lived in Grovehill for 5 years. I'm in Scotland now, but I still know a fair number of people in Hemel.

I can really recommend the mums and toddler groups at South Hill Church in Cemetery Hill/road (can't remember) and Adeyfield Church and there was one in Chaulden which had wild kids but was well run

there were also a few music and jumping bean type toddler thingies too.

I can ask around some of my friends if you like.

Whereabouts in Hemel are you? If you don't want to say then feel free to email me shepherds dot house at virgin dot net and maybe I can point you in someone's direction?

misdee · 10/05/2007 21:24

err why have you taken all of your dh speeding points?

newlifenewname · 10/05/2007 21:28

bobsmum - I lived in Grovehil between 1975 an 1992! Were you there then? How old are you?

bobsmum · 10/05/2007 21:31

Didn't notice the speeding thing - just noticed the licence thing. Hope you've not done anything daft Kneehigh?

Newlife - no I was there '99 - '04. Been up here for 2.5 years now.

bobsmum · 10/05/2007 21:32

Newlife - I still know a few folks who've been in Grovehill for years though.

MerryMarigold · 10/05/2007 21:35

newlife - i lived in hemel from about 85 to 94. i went to cavendish.

newlifenewname · 10/05/2007 21:40

JFK me!

MerryMarigold · 10/05/2007 23:01

i used to get the JFK bus from woodhall farm, thru grovehill. it was better than getting the halsey bus!

newlifenewname · 10/05/2007 23:25

383?!

MerryMarigold · 11/05/2007 11:29

wow, you remember the number! i always wished i was at jfk, the kids seemed a bit nicer...and hardly anyone from cav got the bus. where are you now, newlife? what was your old name? i am east london. my parents moved to tring so i go there a fair bit too.

Kneehighinnappies · 11/05/2007 15:00

Bobsmum- I am in highfeild, there is a toddler club but my parents take DD to that as i am always trying to catch up with washing, sleep, or getting my shopping delivered and just having some me time while the DT's are asleep.

Oh and the reason I have taken all my DH's points is because when I was working before ML I was working from home, and DH travels so much with work and our house's (1 in hemel and the other in cardiff (the m4 is a bastard with speed cameras)) he would have been banned so I took the blame.
We need him to drive as it is a very big part of his job and we need him to have a job to keep all my little ones in nappies.
But don't worry he gets a regular guilt trip about me doing it for him.

Hellooooo! I'd lost this thread completely, and was just about to do a search on it, but it was up near the top already!

I work part time, but am free on Wednesday and Friday afternoons.

THe question is whether you can cope with the howling though (dd, not me !)

Kneehighinnappies · 14/06/2007 21:44

Hello wrigglejiggle, I have 3 that love nothing better than to scream and throw tantrums so they can all try and out do eachother.

I am working till the end of this month so don't really have a spare scond, but after I have finished what I have to do work wise I will NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED to get out of the house and both friday and wednesdays are good with me, like I said I don't know anyone in the area so getting out and about is prety limited at the mo till i can get my licence back. so I haven't really gone anyhwere by myself with the DC's in nearly 3 months

Anyway if you want to contact me my email is
elana dot cooper at ntl world dot com. You will probably have more chance getting me on there than on MN at the moment.

Hope to hear from you soon.
