11am, Spurriergate Centre (which is a converted church.... not for any religious reasons, but because it's central and cheap and child-friendly).

I think we have three people so far - this is going to be a friendly small-scale meet-up especially good for people (like me) who have never been to any kind of a Mumsnet meet-up before!

Count me in

You'll recognise me, as I will have two small children with me, I will be looking very harrassed, and will be pushing ds in a bright orange quinny zapp (and I may be late, as the road between me and York is closed, so will have to go another way)

I draw the line at clenching a red rose between my teeth though

KathyMCMLXXII · 02/05/2007 17:06

Excellent!
I will also have 2 small children and looking harrassed; indeed I will probably have mislaid one by that point and be looking around frantically to see where I put it.

I'll think of some eye-catching item of clothing to wear and let you all know what it is, as our buggy is a bit boring.

OP posts:
KathyMCMLXXII · 03/05/2007 15:31

another bump as we are slipping down the board

OP posts:
fryalot · 03/05/2007 15:36

so.... just you and me then?

come on yorkies, let's get together and have some fun!

or a cup of coffee at least

KathyMCMLXXII · 03/05/2007 19:23

Thehairybabysmum may also be up for it.... if you could keep it bumped over the w/e when I tend not to get on MN very much maybe we will find someone else to keep us company!

OP posts:
fryalot · 03/05/2007 20:34

do my best

fryalot · 05/05/2007 18:01

as promised

fryalot · 06/05/2007 15:13

any more yorkies?

thehairybabysmum · 08/05/2007 08:56

me too...i couldnt find this thread last week when i looked for it...was doing a man look obviously!

I will also no doubt look harassed, will have one small child with me plus a bump if that helps, I am also likely to be eating chocolate cake.

Also have a non distinctive buggy..tis a brown and green chicco one

See you all then

fryalot · 08/05/2007 10:29

looking forward to it

fryalot · 08/05/2007 13:57

so..... just the three of us then?

KathyMCMLXXII · 08/05/2007 14:36

Glad you're still coming, Hairybabysmum!
Is your baby really hairy (for purposes of identification)?

Three is enough to make it worthwhile but I'm a little sorry Filthymindedvixen isn't coming, if only because I like the idea of going up to strange women and saying 'Are you a filthy minded vixen?'

We'll pick a table as near as possible to the children's play area (which is on the left as you come in).

OP posts:
thehairybabysmum · 08/05/2007 15:15

he does have quite a bit of hair yes...gingery-blonde...now that he's older tis not quite as distinctive as when he stood out against the mainly bald babies so prob not that helpful.

Right will look for the select group by the play area then.

KathyMCMLXXII · 09/05/2007 11:24

Another bump in case there is anyone else in the York area who would like to join us!

OP posts:
fryalot · 09/05/2007 13:52

and another one from me

add it to the itinerary - York Dungeon, 9.00am, Clifford's Tower, 10.00am, Spurriergate Centre with the girls 11.00am, walk around the walls 12.00pm.....

KathyMCMLXXII · 10/05/2007 14:46

See you tomorrow, guys.

I am sort of medium height with medium brown hair and glasses and will probably be wearing beige Crocs, if that helps with the identification!

OP posts:
fryalot · 10/05/2007 14:48

I'm sort of medium height, reasonably dark hair and will probably be wearing a nice summer dress with leggings and if it's cold (which it probably will be) a nice warm cardigan.

I will set off at about 10, and I may be late, as the road is closed, and I have to go another way, so wait for me... I'm definitely coming.

judemum · 11/05/2007 09:54

hi folks- only just found this thread and its too late to join you, but count me in if you want to meet again...hope you don't get wet!

KathyMCMLXXII · 11/05/2007 15:36

Hey Jude!

I'm sure there will be a next time - maybe we could have a weekend picnic - keep scanning the threads.

Squonk and Hairybabysmum - it was really nice to see you; thanks for the tomatoes, HBM.

I got home all right in spite of my front carrier busting - I got a strange man at the bus stop to tie a knot in it for me (and the bus home was a pushchair accessible one, heaven....)

OP posts:
fryalot · 11/05/2007 15:58

I had a lovely time.

It was really nice to meet you both, and to put a face to a couple of names I've seen on here so much

Sounds like you had a bit of a nightmare trip home, K, but glad you all got back in one piece. Is it fixable?

KathyMCMLXXII · 11/05/2007 16:02

The clip was already broken but dh had mended it with gaffer tape (everything in our house is mended with gaffer tape) and it was the tape that went.
I'm going to get one of those 3-way ones that you can have on your back too because it won't be long before he's too big for wearing in front.

Actually the journey was fine once I got to the bus stop, thanks - bus was on time, easy to get pushchair on, and dd decided she liked buses after all....
