Was thinking Hyde Park , a Sunday afternoon - 29th July sounds like a fine day.

Who is up for it?

Bugger! Forecast is now saying rain for Sunday!!!!!

Have we peeved the Met Office at some point in the past?

OP posts:
EHM · 26/07/2007 13:03

I am really looking forward to meeting everyone, although a bit scared rain is not good.

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/07/2007 14:15

I noticed that too QV. Still, forecast will prob change another 5 times between now and then, and then turn out to be wrong anyway!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 26/07/2007 20:28

I emailed the park about the Music Village thing, and also shelter from the rain. They replied with this....

"Thank you for your email. The music village event does take up a fair amount of the area that is marked on our map so i would say you might be better advised to situate yourselves in a quieter area of the Park, having said that the music village event is a very nice family music event and if you were to stay in that are you might like to sit at the top of the hill with your group where you can see the stage and listen to the music.

In the event of rain we can really only suggest using the shelter of one of our larger trees as the bandstand becomes quite slippery and wet when it rains and definitely unsafe for people to use.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me"

So if lightning starts, we are the first to cop it right?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 27/07/2007 15:05

It's going to be a glorious weekend, except for Sunday, apparently.

Forecast for heavy rain. Am getting twitchy about it now.....

OP posts:
UCM · 27/07/2007 15:09

Well lets face it, if it's pissing down on Sunday, it's going to be a bit of a no-goer to go to an outdoor.

I won't be able to come. I wouldn't want to as it will be a bit pants with little ones in the rain.

If it goes tits up on Sunday, maybe we could wait for some better weather and do it then.

UCM · 27/07/2007 15:09

Park.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 27/07/2007 15:20

You'd think being end of July, we'd not need to wait for decent weather

OP posts:
UCM · 27/07/2007 15:21

I know I know, and I will definitely be there if it's nice. I keep checking BBC weather but it's not looking good.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 27/07/2007 15:31

Indeed. Its the one bloody day that it is going to be raining....grrr

OP posts:
BBBee · 27/07/2007 17:23

bugger - weather is really looking pants and agree without the sun it is a bit of a non starter.

And there is no one even to be angry wth (but I could point out that we never had summers like this under Tony Blair!)

VeniVidiVickiQV · 27/07/2007 18:43

Will be taking my name off the list, I think - DS1 has horribly high temps and tonsilitis. Is on his second lot of antibiotics now - don't want to drag him into town.

Hunker

OP posts:
VeniVidiVickiQV · 27/07/2007 20:04

Arse....

Shall we postpone folks?

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 27/07/2007 21:04

Well, I cant face it if its raining. I just need a nice easy day!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 27/07/2007 21:06

Okay - well we'll cancel until further notice - hopefully things will brighten up in August and we can re-arrange?

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 27/07/2007 21:17

Yes, let's hope for some sun in August!

Could UCM, Kif, Kewcumber, EHM and BBB either CAT me or mail icklemiracles at gmail dot com please?

EHM · 27/07/2007 21:54
