N. Derbyshire/S. Yorks Mums?

Hi
This is my first post on mumsnet. I moved up to Derbyshire from down south and have a one year old son. I'm a happily married fulltime mum.

I'm hoping to find some people who live fairly close-by (I live near Chesterfield);people who might know of local (child-friendly) places to visit etc and also may want to meet up for pushchair walks/lunch etc. My family and most of my friends are down south and I sometimes find it a bit lonely at home with my little boy (I'm sure I'm not the only one?)

I have a car and so can travel.

Bye My2pworth. Nice talking to you. Hopefully see you in here again.
Seriously worried I'm already getting the MN bug!

Believe me mn is very addictive

SmileyC · 19/04/2007 22:51

Where is canon hall?
Also, is there anyway of replying to a post without scrolling back to botton each time? Is annoying as thread gets longer

Smiley, join us on the March 06 thread if you like

Cannon Hall is in Cawthorne Barnsley.

SmileyC · 19/04/2007 23:10

Astrophe- I have selected March06 in my "watched" threads so I remember to post there. I saw the post directing your friends to me-thanks

Phoenix- I may be able to make it next week. We only have one car and DH has a couple of things on next week which means he needs the car, but I can't remember which days. Will get back to you. I googles Canon Hall. I gather it's parkland? What is there to do exaxtly? Is there a cafe or something?

PhoenixGirl · 19/04/2007 23:15

It's a big park with a couple of cafe's and a farm . Keep a check here for definite details

SmileyC · 19/04/2007 23:21

Ok. Thanks. I did find a bit more on my google search once I spelled "Cannon" correctly- durrrr! Me thinks it's time for bed! Need to give little 'un his late bottle (still has a late feed!) and get washed for bed.....oh dear, another midnight bedtime and I promised myself an early night.......I think that MN may be a bad influence! Will have to put a timer on next time I log on and be strict!

It was me that spelt it wrong lol.

I need my bed too. DH is on nights otherwise i'd be in bed by now. We're really lucky with ds he hasn't had a feed in the night since he went in his own room at about 7 week old and he always sleeps through He has his last bottle about 6.45 then bed at 7pm til 7ish am.

SmileyC · 19/04/2007 23:31

Bed then! Maybe catch up with you tomorrow? When are you normally on? Eve I assume?
Bye for now.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, I feel less lonely already (hmmmm.....think maybe I should have talked to DH tonight instead of sitting on here, resulting in him playing on X-Box??? May end up lonely AND divorced if I'm not careful! )

Soz i went to bed

I'm on some mornings but mostly evenings after 8 once ds is in bed.

SmileyC · 20/04/2007 12:45

Great. Will hopefully catch up with you later or over w/e. Prob be snuggling in with DH in front of a film tonight! He's been off sick for 5 months and so home all the time but this week he is on a course and so I have not seen alot of him all week. Think that's why I've been feeling lonely this week, but it's good not to be under each others feet. Anyway, my point is that I may not make it on here tonight because I want to spend time with DH.
Will keep an eye on your thread about next week. Can I ask what sort of time you'll be meeting because I am out Tues night and need to make sure I get back in good time If I come to your meet up(first girls night out since Xmas!)

Will go over to your thread and introduce myself in a min, assuming DS does not wake soon! You may as well reply to me there to make things simpler.

Bye for now
