Hi,

I'm a local mum (daughter 18mths) not long moved to the area, I work the beginning half of the week and would like to meet some other local mum's to meet up with for a coffee, days out, and general chat on thursdays or fridays.

So if like me you want to widen your circle of friends or let someone new into your existing circle...drop me an e-mail it would be great to hear from you....

Its friday mornings, her age group is 9.30 - 10.15. She'll go up to the 10.30 class at 2yrs.

Its quite pricey. Around £50 a term but its the only thing we do regularly. Ds did it from 9 months-4 yrs.

dd loves it. Except for the singing. She goes a bit shy then.

A lot of the mums I talked to when I took ds as a baby are there again with their 2nd children who are dd's age. Its nice.

meandthomas · 16/04/2007 18:31

Hi Anorak
How are you? I havent been around much recently but a meet up would be cool.

Thurs 26th sounds good to me. I can do any time, i live very near town on the cathedral side. ( I can do morning and after school) It'll do ds good to run off some energy

meandthomas · 19/04/2007 19:28

I cant do after school on thurs 26th but the morning would be fab if anyone is around..

LMK · 23/04/2007 12:15

shall we say about 9.30am thursday, does that give anyone who's coming enough time?

OP posts:
meandthomas · 25/04/2007 11:07

Argh, I cant come now
My tutors have smuggled in an extra review and i need to drop my ds elsewhere for the day.

Arg! They never give you very much notice do they..

Sorry, hope to re-arrange it for soon.

LMK · 26/04/2007 08:18

shall we arrange for next week instead...the weather should hopefully be nicer....

Sorry I can't do Thursday mornings, not that early anyway.

We could always have an evening out sans kids. Not instead of the play date but as well as?

LMK · 26/04/2007 09:17

ok well we'll arrange another time or day...and a night out sounds great too

Hello,
Just joined up. I live near Harpenden and have a 7 year dd and am due again in december. Would like to meet up for an evening if i can get dp home in time or can meet up during the day.
There are loads of lovely looking places in St Albans but I've not been out there yet. We only moved to the area last July so I am still fairly new as well.

WriggleJiggle · 27/04/2007 19:33

Hello everyone. A night out sounds a great idea.

Is anyone around on a Wednesday or Friday afternoon who fancies meeting up? Or perhaps a weekend meetup?

anorak · 28/04/2007 10:00

I can meet up on certain Friday afternoons but have to collect my son from school at 3.15 so preferably after 3.30 to give me time to get to St Albans. I can do Weds but I will have two children then as I have my friend's daughter as well.

FlumpOven · 28/04/2007 21:23

Hi there, I have just joined mumsnet after having it recommended to me by someone nice I met at antenatal aqua aerobics at Canon, and I am hoping to meet some other nice mums and mums to be in my area as my maternity leave is driving me a little bit mad and I would really like to make contact with people who know what it's like (and what to expect in the coming months!)

I live in St Albans (near Morrisons, on the Hatfield Road), I'm 29, married, first baby on the way (due 23rd June)and I have a car, so I can get out and about - when I have places to go

So if a meet up is in the offing this week I would love to be included if that's ok

Cheers,

FlumpOven aka Ali Harris

Hi there

I'm another St Albans mumsnetter - never been on a meet up despite having been here for years!

Do you guys have a date set yet - not sure I'm following this thread correctly...

I have dd 7, ds 4 and ds 3.

We are Sandridge way.

LMK · 29/04/2007 11:15

we don't have a date set....as yet....this is kind of the first time i've done this too!!
I'm around thursdays and fridays and weekends mostly, just off Hatfield road, drive and would like to meet anyone as i only now one person here....

I wonder if perhaps we could get Cantsleepwontsleep and southeastastra interested in this as they are both in the area. And they are both very nice.

newlifenewname · 29/04/2007 11:53

If it's sunny does anyone fancy Clarence park some time this week? There's the cafe too for if rainy or miserable...I think I'm free at some point most days but will be child free in the mornings so perhaps after school for those with school age children??

Just a suggestion, not my thread so will be happy to follow OP's lead!

LMK · 29/04/2007 19:28

I'm happy to meet one day after school if thats whats easy.... I can do thursday or friday this week... (where is clarence park?)

also for nights out i'm quite lucky for sitters....so can be flexible....

OP posts:
newlifenewname · 30/04/2007 10:36

Clarence Park is next to the railway. The entrance is at the big traffic light junction near Morrisons. Bridal shop on the corner.

Friday best for me but Thurs do-able.

Anyone else?!

FlumpOven · 30/04/2007 18:09

Hi there, I can do Thursday this week - will be away Friday but there's always another time if that is the best day for everyone else. I live quite near Clarence Park so am happy to walk up the road - what is a good time for everyone and whereabouts in the park should we meet? It's big-ish and my walking skills are pretty limited right now ! Maybe meet up near the restaurant part (the restaurant is opposite The Crown pub on Hatfield Rd for those not too familiar with the area.)Would mid morning work for people? Say around 10:30? I look forward to maybe meeting some of you then, if that sounds like a plan?

WriggleJiggle · 30/04/2007 22:22

Can't do Thursday 10.30, but would love to join you on your next meet up.

newlifenewname · 01/05/2007 09:33

We were at Clarence Park yesterday and it was lovely...

I CAN do 10.30 but I'd have no children and need top collect ds from nursery at 11.30 so after school or after lunch and before 3pm would be better for me.

Shall we set the day as Thurs and try and agree a time - LMK, Flumpoven - you in? Wriggle can you do that day at all - maybe a different time?

LMK · 01/05/2007 16:37

i'm good for more or less any time thursday.... decide and i'll be there, by the restaurant...
