Hi I moved to Derbyshire 9 months ago i am married and have a dd (15mths) and would like to meet some other mums. I am in the middle of nottingham, derby and sheffield so am lucky that can meet in a lot of areas but am quite shy, so finding it hard to go to groups. Also dd usually sleeps in morning, and toddler groups in my area all seem to be in the morning which leaves me stuck. Is there anyone out there that would like to chat?

Sounds a great place. Always worry my dd will get trampled on in the "ok but more suited to over-three types".

Yeah wilki, sometimes feels like you're the only one round here who wasn't born here doesn't it lol, good to talk to others the same.

Where did you move from fairydust?

wilki2000 · 03/07/2004 01:27

lol - that would be great, you'll know me because im very tall too, and strangely enough will be exasperated with my dd too, again strangely enough for no particular reason! .

I may also be looking through window to see if anyone is sitting there with an axe, looking for a tall exasperated mother lol. But dont panic that wont put me off, especially if its been a bad day.

Forgot to say if you need directions the let me know......

(and I'm not from round here either - Cumbria originally - and odd as it may seem most of my local friends aren't from round here either)

WedgiesMum · 03/07/2004 01:29

No axes but PLENTY of plastic swords.....

wilki2000 · 03/07/2004 01:30

starting to think no one is from round here. Maybe we were all kidnapped by aliens (usually disguised as men) and dumped in the east midlands?

am ok for directions thanks, looked in bed shop next door, when first moved here. Ok so I will look for a tall cumbrian with a plastic sword on 6th July at 12.30. Anyone else who wants to come please feel free, the more the merrier!!!

ALL BEING WELL - WILL CONFIRM NEXT WEEKS AFTER HOSPITAL.

I MOVED FROM NOTTINGHAM WAY SO NOT TO FAR

babysteffee · 03/07/2004 02:12

I would come along but just developed a bout of shyness after all my brave talk of "just go for it, and go to a meet-up"

wilki2000 · 04/07/2004 01:17

Babystefee, I just cannot believe you dare use that olddy, so yesterday!! You dont need to worry I wont be carrying a plastic sword, just WM who will be armed. You should come, after all I figure if you're all nuts I wont see you too often!

lol wilki, would love to come really but dh will be at work, ds1 is at nursery 12:55 - 3:15 and I don't drive, so would be a bit of a challenge getting there and back in that time!! Oh well.

wilki2000 · 05/07/2004 23:48

oh thats a shame babystefee. Maybe we can arrange a meet for another time as well. I dont mind picking you up if needed. Maybe a coffee in Derby or something? Let me know if you have any free time where you fancy it and maybe some of the other girls would fancy it too?

Looks like I might be able to make this one after all. A friend has asked if they can "borrow" my baby for a few hours on Tuesday, and dh can always be persuaded to leave work a couple of hours early to pick the eldest up. So that just leaves DD, age 21 months. I guess she can come with me then, lol.

WedgiesMum · 06/07/2004 13:14

Yey! the more the merrier. Me and Dd will probably be there early as she knows we are going and is always keen to get there

wilki2000 · 09/07/2004 23:36

great news babystefee, like wm said, the more the merrier! by the way, great friend! Does she need to borrow anyone elses baby?

babysteffee · 11/07/2004 23:51

Ooops!! I'm really sorry, I totally forgot about this. I can't believe I walked around the shops today with DD thinking we had something to do today too! I hope whoever got there in the end had a lovely time.

lol wilki, I already tried that one. I asked if she could borrow both babies but she wasn't that convinced. Oh well, lol.

WedgiesMum · 12/07/2004 17:47

Naughty babysteffee , me and wilki had a lovely time time thankyou......It was great. We should definitely do it again soon!
