City ladies who (work and) lunch: Next City lunch?

It's February, it's wet, I have a toddler in the midst of the very ?terrible twos?, I am recovering from a horrid cold/flu bug and I cannot seem to find the right new job (if such a thing actually exists)...oh and the world is full of young couples going on romantic dinners / breaks...I definitely need another City MNers lunch!

So, who is in the City and available for lunch week commencing 12th March at the Pizza Pomodoro, off Bishopsgate? I cannot remember for certain which days are the most convenient for everyone (although I seem to recall that Mondays and Tuesdays are good) so do feel free to suggest any day (except, she says selfishly, Friday).

...off to have a quiet grump now and maybe cheer myself up with coffee and a chocolate muffin...

Hello ladies, thought it was time for a quick recap re our lunch next Monday.

At the moment, I have the following MNers on my list (hopefully I have not missed anyone off but, if so, please correct me):

  1. Jura
  2. Marina
  3. Novembergirl
  4. NotQuiteCockney (from 1.30ish)
  5. CristinaTheAstonishing
  6. Anniemac
  7. Mollymawk
  8. Therealcontrolfreakydave
  9. MrsPhilipGlenister (good to have you along)

I have booked a table at Pizza Pomodoro for 12.45. Please could you let me know, as soon as possible, if you are no longer able to make it, so I can update the restaurant.

Eemie and Babybear10, thank you for joining the threat and sorry you will not be able to attend this lunch. Next time we will select another day (maybe a Tuesday?)

See you all (fingers' crossed) next Monday...

Great. Have a lunch and see you next time.

Ooh only just spotted this. Can you believe how quickly the last 9 months have gone as guess what - I'm back at work again having had dd2 and therefore available for City Lunches once more....well apart from this one I'm afraid which unfortunately is too short notice given that I've only just spotted it and I have back to back meetings all day Monday (boo-hiss!)

Very though and shall think of you all as I continue to grapple with this whole concept of 'work' again!!

Novembergirl · 11/03/2007 21:28

Hi HandbagAddiction, sorry you've spotted this threat too late to join us: hopefully next time?

See you all tomorrow...

I am still planning to attend. Slight wrinkle, though - I am having an eye exam this morning, which will probably involve eye dilation drops. The exam is booked for 10am, so I am hoping to be able to see by 1pm. If this works, I will be able to get to you on time. If it doesn't, I won't. I think it will be fine.

Sorry for being so crap.

DS2 is looking forward to it, though - I've said he won't get a nap, and will go on the bike to have pudding somewhere, and he was talking about it first thing this morning.

NotQuiteCockney · 12/03/2007 08:20

Oh, and as well as being blind I am wearing my stripey weirdo pirate socks! So lots for you besuited and bebooted City Ladeez to fear ...

Hi Jura, the table is booked in my first name (think "Plain....") and is for 8 people. I am planning on arriving before 12.45, though, and will look out for everyone.

For those MNers I have yet to meet, I am wearing a blue suit with a light blue shirt and I have shoulder-length 'strawberry blonde' (some might say red) hair.

NotQuiteCockney, hope the effects of the eye examination have worn off by 1pm: we will look out for the "stripey weirdo pirate socks"!

See you all soon...

Yes, and I'll have to lunch and run unfortunately, so may not see boss-eyed NQC on this occasion. hope that is OK but I officially only get 30 mins for lunch!

Sorry I'm not going to make it. Phone rang at 12.30 just as I was about to leave, and it's too late to set off now!

Apologies and hope to see you all next time.

vivat · 12/03/2007 13:58

Have only just seen this - i've been to a couple of these many moons ago, but would love to catch up again. When is the next one ? Off on maternity leave in May so would be good to see old and new faces before then....

I would also be interested in a quick lunch some time now i am back in work (apologies I'm a accountant so nothing interesting to say). Work nr Liverpool st but also will only have 30 mins for lunch so probably have a drink rather than lunch.

NotQuiteCockney · 12/03/2007 18:53

DS2 did enjoy his ice cream. Actually, with fewer people there, he got down from my lap and even wandered a tiny bit, playing with the wall carvings.

I certainly felt conspicuous in my weirdo pirate socks, with the rest of you all dressed up!

mollymawk · 12/03/2007 19:50

I was v impressed with the pirate socks. Am thinking of getting some to wear to work...

Very nice to meet you all, including Master NQC. Disappointed I couldn't stay for some ice cream.

Thanks Novemebergirl for organising it!

hmmunkermunker · 12/03/2007 19:52

They're very cheap, you'll be startled to hear! I can get some spares from the local market, and bring them to the next meet, for anyone who feels left out

hmmunkermunker · 12/03/2007 19:52

Oh, and thanks for organising, Novembergirl.

I miss my City Lunches too! Have to fit my MN time into late evenings now so I'm very bad at catching up.

I'll try to keep track from now on and get the next one.......
