Hi, I am a mum of two boys (ages 3 and 18 months) and we are due to move to North Leeds over the next couple of weeks (due to DH new job). I would like to meet people and want my boys to interact with other kids. I don't know anyone there and I am shy, so not sure where to start. Can anyone help?

I could do 10ish. dd has a long nap usualy half 12 til half 2. the whole nap thing's really awkward! Thats a shame about hospital appointment time with regards to meeting up- obviously its very necessary for baby!!
What shall we do??!

manuka · 20/02/2007 18:48

If its better for most people to meet early afternoon then thats ok and maybe we can sort another day and do a morning???

gingermonkey · 20/02/2007 19:55

I've just realised DD has a swimming gala monday so I'm going to have to cry off too. (Good job I realised, otherwise I'd have been eating cake whilst the poor little monkey was swimming for her life!!! )
Tuesdays are usually good days for me and mornings are best x

burnsy555 · 21/02/2007 15:13

Can I just check the details from Friday? Cool Cats 10.30? I know some of you are meeting at the station but for those of us going straight there should we meet just inside? I someone bringing a sign saying 'mumsnet'? LOL

burnsy555 · 21/02/2007 15:13

milkymill · 21/02/2007 17:07

gingermonkey · 21/02/2007 18:00

I've put Thursday in diary! around 10 am gingerbread cottage!
Was there this afternoon and it was full and it was hot and really sweaty!! Thought I was going to have an asthma attack!!!!! Can't believe they were all sat there in such a stuffy environment. I opened a window!!!
hope your scan is good AuntyMandy, you never know it could be twins!!!

Hi gals,

I'm sorry but I've completely lost the plot about the arrangements made....can someone tell me the dates and location/times so i can work out if I can make either of them?

Sorry to be thick but my mind has gone to mush (must be all the unpacking of boxes I'm doing!!).

Cheers m'dears!

gingermonkey · 22/02/2007 09:49

Tomorrow (fri) at coolcats 10.30 onwards and Thurs as Gingerbread Cottage at 10 (I think). Enjoy your unpacking!!!!

auntymandy · 24/02/2007 07:38

how did Friday go?

gingermonkey · 24/02/2007 15:18

Twas good! But Cool Cats was super busy so probably not ideal for the little ones (it is half term for wakey which explains why it was full of school age kids). I'd like to try it when it's quieter, there was a really good menu (but no cake, which made me very sad!)

manuka · 24/02/2007 16:53

Have you been to that lovely farm in Yeadon with all the cute minature animals and the indoor playcentre not to mention the fabulous farm shop which sells homemade pies etc!??!!?
That would be a good place for a meet up!

gingermonkey · 24/02/2007 16:56

I haven't but sounds good! Were there goats? I love goats!

manuka · 24/02/2007 19:00

You are indeed in for a treat! Not just goats but BABY MINATURE GOATS!!!!! There's also a shed which has rabbits and guinea pigs that little kids can go in and "pet" [terrify] There's also a big tractor for children to play on!

gingermonkey · 24/02/2007 19:20

OMG!!! Dwarf goats! (are they small enough for me to slip one into a large handbag?) Right, when are we going? I've got a busy week coming up but I can manage a trip most tuesdays

I rescued a chipmonk from a toilet once at a farm, I had it in a glove to keep it warm. I was so tempted to just take it home with me, but the decent citizen in me took over and I handed him in. Anyone irresponsible enough to allow a chipmonk to almost drown doesn't deserve him in the first place, IMO!!!!

auntymandy · 24/02/2007 20:15

yeadon farm is good. But last time we went said most of it was shut till May!! Has it re-opened? Not been in play barn yet though as i dont want Ds's to expect that every visit!!

manuka · 25/02/2007 09:33

Some friends went yesterday so will ask them what was available.
I would have kept the chipmunk and nicked another so it had a friend!!!!
Will find out about the farm and then we can go or wait til fully open if it isn't.

manuka · 25/02/2007 18:13

The farm is indeed shut til May it's just the playarea and shop open. Not long til May though anyway.

milkymill · 25/02/2007 18:42

Has anyone been to St leanords farm park in Esholt? We went the other week and it's fab!

gingermonkey · 25/02/2007 19:44

Manuka, I'm glad you would have kept him. He was so cute. Each time I go back I just hope he'll be back in the toilet, ready to be scooped by me (and this time he'd come home with me too!!!!). It is indeed not long til May (and hopefully warmer then too!). Dwarf goats, here I come!!!! Milky, where's Esholt? (My geog is crap!)

milkymill · 25/02/2007 20:33

If you go past Morrisons in Guiseley, towards Shipley. It's near Baildon. I'd say it's about 15 mins further on from Yeadon.

manuka · 26/02/2007 18:51

What do they have there??

milkymill · 26/02/2007 21:44

Thet have goats, sheep ,donkeys to feed. Some very cute piglets! A mini petting area with rabbits etc. There's a big haybarn to play in with swing ropes and tunnels, and a pretty good indoor 'wacky' type play area, and a cafe.
