ledodgy · 09/02/2007 15:51

I disagree when I see your nickname I think of an old timer so you are memorable.

ledodgy · 09/02/2007 15:52

Just to clarify I mean a long standing mner when i say old timer and am not saying I think you're a pensioner!

also meant to add MTS thanks sooo much for the outfits they are gorgeous, even Dh liked them which is saying something as he is hard to please!!!! Also of course thanks for the plates.

Good news this morning Dh got a letter to say he has a job interview on 23rd feb for his ideal job!!! It is back working with comet[he worked there for 10yrs part time then full time] but it is in service centre as a computer expert. Means normal hours and no christmas/bank holidays plus a decent wage compared to other basic IT jobs. Also means another company car which is a hugeeeeeeeeeeee bonus to us. So fingers crossed as it is day before his bday and the christening etc.

OP posts:
mylittlestar · 10/02/2007 18:16

hi everyone

so so sorry i couldn't make it last night. i was absolutely gutted.

was on my way home from work at 4pm and got a call of dh saying not to panic (!) but he was in hospital with ds who had had a fit!

ds is 17 months, generally very healthy and well and i was completely in shock.
to make it worse dh and ds were in chester at toys r us so he'd been taken to countess of chester hospital and i had to get all the way over there in rush hour, in the most atrocious weather ever! awful!

turns out he had a febrile convultion (sp?) basically a fit brought on by a high temperature he had (due to a virus) and his body was unable to cope with the sudden high temp.

they kept him in overnight and have let us come home this afternoon. he's still got the high temp but we're keeping a very close eye on him now!

the whole experience was horrendous. being in that ward with some really sick children and talking to parents who spend night after night in there. makes you really think about things and think how lucky you really are.

so we're all back home now and about to have a cuddle on the couch and watch a film.

anyway, i hope you all had a really lovely night and i hope we can organise another meet up very soon so i can meet with you all.

(ledodgy thanks so much for your message - i'm so glad i gave you my number as i was so worried about letting you all down and not being able to let you know. thanks xx)

Biglips · 10/02/2007 18:19

aww no worries mylittlestar and gosh its sounded a horrible experience - i bet it had putted you off coming out last nite after all that. Im (yes me again! ) gonna arrange another nightout - meal - in april time x

OP posts:
mylittlestar · 10/02/2007 18:27

great news about another meet up. i will wrap ds up in a ball of cotton wool on the next day we're going out so that nothing can go wrong!!

i needed that night out so much. and have also had to let some really good friends down tonight as there's just no way i could leave ds, so i'm really really fed up!

just seen ledodgy's thread too and she sounds like she's having a terrible time

rachfran · 10/02/2007 18:35

Mylittlestar, glad your DS is back at home.
Enjoy your film

Ledodgy sending hugs to you and your family

Jaamy · 10/02/2007 23:24

Gosh so many poorly ones.

Mylittlestar - what a scary time. Hope DS is recovered now. Look forward to meeting you at the next meetup.

Ledodgy - hope DS improves, he sounds so poorly, but in the right place.

Browny - hope it was just a 24 hour bug and you and DS are all better now.

BL - do you think it's safe to arrange another night out...seem to have wiped out half of the thread!!

Browny · 11/02/2007 21:24

Sounds like everyone had a lovely meal, what was wrong with the waitress Jammy, you'll have to fill me in?

Ledodgy, so sorry to hear about your poor little ds, but I'm glad to hear that he's home now, hope he's feeling much stronger soon, I've left a message on your other thread xx

Rachfran, hope to meet you at the next one, in the not too distance future.

Mylittlestar, sorry you had a terrible time on Friday too, that happened to my little boy when he was just 13 months old, his sisters both had the chickenpox and he came down with some viral infection and his temperature wouldn't go down, he had a fit right in front of my eyes and it was the scariest thing I've ever seen. We ended up in Alder Hey too, but after saying hours and hours all he was given was baby nurofen and calpol and his temperature came down. He's 7 now and never had another one... I always make sure that I give him both nurofen and calpol as soon as he starts with a temperature. Hope he's better soon . xx
