Am new to the area and would love to meet some mum's. My son is 6 months old. We are in a village in between Bath and Bristol and love getting out and about. Don't mind a glass of wine and a laugh either! Just me that is..

Hi Tassie, I live in Weston in Bath. I have a 3 month old son and a DS who is 2 in 3 weeks (!)

Where do you love, if you don;t mind me asking? I probably drive by you quite often, as I am always popping to Bristol for something!

Tassietoo · 29/11/2006 15:10

Im in a village called Farmborough. Just trying out village life but thinking I might like to move to Bath. My husband works in Bristol but I think we have had enough of big cities at the moment. Have you always lived in Bath?

TinselgalacticWalrus · 29/11/2006 15:11

I know Farmborough!

No, I used to live in Birmingham. I have lived here about 8 years now. I love it!

Do you come into Bath very often?

Tassietoo · 29/11/2006 15:15

Yes I try to find excuses to come in all the time! How do you know Farmborough?

OP posts:
TinselgalacticWalrus · 29/11/2006 15:19

I have just driven through it about 9 million times on the way to various places.

Tassietoo · 29/11/2006 15:22

I guess because Im new I think that noone would know it.

I love the area, am really pleased we moved from stinkin' London. Just need to find where to buy a place now.

Still there? Or have I bored you already? Tell me more! What do you get up to? Are you are career woman longing to get back to work one day or are you loving the life of being a mummy and are in no rush?

OP posts:
TinselgalacticWalrus · 29/11/2006 15:45

Sorry tt! DS1 just vomited all over the carpet! He's in bed now. He's not a well bunny, bless him!

I'm not a career woman, no. I'm a SAHM, who teaches the cello 4 time a week, but I am looking for a bit more work, as I desperately need to use my redundant brain a bit more!Although, I am very reluctant to work many hours, as I do like being at home. However, said children do need to eat! So I do need to do more hours.

e mail me if you like. [email protected]

this is my first time using a chat room. What does DS mean? Darling Son? My little one is also not that well and is asleep in my lap, so sweet!

Hi I'm not too far from you and my friend works in Farmbrough, do you go to any Local toddlers there are a few about, one in Timsbury on a Thursday am and one in Paulton on a Monday and Wednesday, or theres one at Chelwood (normally in pensford but the hall is out of action till after xmas).
Lots of things going on if your looking to meet othee mums

Tassietoo · 29/11/2006 15:57

Hello! I went to one in Farmborough but found it a bit small and I was the only one with a baby as opposed to a toddler. Could try Timsbury though.

I do go into Bath to an NCT group now and then also.

where in Farmborough does your friend work?

Luckymetwins · 29/11/2006 16:01

My freind when to the Farmbrough one and said the same, I would think Timsbury one is a bit bigger.
Theres a great one we go to in Bishop sutton (about 15 mins drive) and it's got all ages from a few wks up. Very popular too, It's in the village hall at 10am till 12, not sure if thats any good

Would love to meet up sometime - I work in Bath so usually a bit of a struggle day time in the week - but hell I own the bloody company I can give myself a day off occassionally !!

yeahinamanger · 29/11/2006 16:38

Introduce yourself to my very good friends who live in Conygre House - they have 3 boys - older than yours - but they'd be up for a bit of baby sitting
She's also a childrens authour

Tassietoo · 30/11/2006 19:16

Hello! Yes I did! I went up to one mum with twins and asked if she were you and obviously she wasn't! I didn't see anyone else with twins so I thought I would ask what you looked like for next week. It was really good by the way. Very friendly. Will try to go next week, but if I dont I will be there the following.

I have to drive to London next Thursday. Is a really nice drive too. Will go to the lake for a walk over the weekend I think.

Glad you liked it, it is a lovely toddlers and they are having an xmas party with Santa if you put your name down.
I did try to look out for a new face but to be honest there have been a few new people the last few weeks, lots of people coming and going.

I was there with my twins, they are boys, I think the lady you mean has two girls about 5-6 mths or something I've not spoken to her before.

I was there with my friend who also has twins and there is another set of b/g twins there so there are quite a few of us

What were you wearing? I had on a grey hooded top and black trousers, hair in pony tail (has been like that ever since the boys )The one who looked like she'd just dragged herself out of bed is probably a better description

Tassietoo · 30/11/2006 21:26

I had a green skirt on and brown boots with short hair tied back. I was sitting on the mats with the other mums and their 5-7 month old's.

Put my name down for the xmas party. Im not sure if I saw you or not. Didn't notice any other twins!

OP posts:
Luckymetwins · 30/11/2006 21:59

I was sat near the mats too with a group of friends near the door.
My twins don't really look a like at all, one has brown straight hair one has blonde curly hair
Were you feeding your son a bottle? I think I remember one lady sitting there feeding a baby a bottle that I didn't know but as I say there are always new faces .
I was at the music at the end too, don't know if you stayed till the end but they have little sing song which is nice.
