ANYONE near hemsworth, west yorkshire?

Does anyone live near me? I am a shy mum with 2 boys aged 6 and 9 and am really needing some new friends.
Everyone at school seems to know each other from the year dot and I am new to this area.
Someone please get in touch!

I've just moved to Hemsworth too, with a 1 year old daughter. I think everybody does know each other here, but nevertheless, they are very friendly too.

Hi

I have just moved into a house in the new David Wilson developement off Station road. We have moved from Leeds and I do not know anyone in this area.
My daughter is 8 months old and I am feeling a bit lost since giving up work to be an at home Mum.
I would love to meet up with anyone in a similar situation.

Hi - I'm in Leeds, so not really on your doorstep - however, 4 of us, so far, are meeting up this Sunday at Temple Newsam in Leeds (SE Leeds, not far off the M1) as there is a hot air balloon festival on.

If anyone fancies joining us then please feel free. 3 of us have met up once before (last week, without kids) & the 4th hasn't met any of us yet! We've been organising this on the Harrogate/North Yorkshire meet-up thread, if you want to read any more.....

Hi there, I also had plans for Sunday so I could not go to the hot air balloon display. Lisa78, castleford is near hemsworth - well not a million miles away. My husband works there so I go quite a bit.
Hope every one that did go to Temple Newsham had a good time - nice weather for it.

Well - perhaps another time then... I mean Temple Newsam rather than the balloon festival. Actually it was a very grand name for it - it was actually a big & busy fun fair, with 3 hot air balloons that were inflated for a while (but always anchored to the ground), then they were deflated!

We had a great time though (well, I did - can't speak for the others!). We went to the farm there, & then had a picnic for lunch, so a nice relaxed day - & the weather was fabulous!

Hi, I live in Leeds and have been on 2 meet-ups - they were both very enjoyable (one with, one without offspring) so I'd be up for another one sometime soon.
I have transport, so am willing to travel down to the Wakefield/Castleford area if that suits most people.

Suits me! I am in Castleford and can get to Wakefield if needs be
If Castleford, the only place I could suggest is a meander around Freeport / xscape - lots of shops, a cheeky chimps and several coffee places???
Anyone fancy that?

'How do' West Yorkshire folk,

I lived in South Elmsall, not far from Hemsworth, and now live in Doncaster.

My DD is 2 next month and on the days I work she stays at Granny's in South Kirkby.

Hemsworth Park or Newmillerdam (Wakefield)are nice for a sunny afternoon meet-up, or there is Freeport at Castleford.

If this is on a Friday, when I have the car (depends on Dh's work committments) I may be able to come across. I actually live in Sheffield but work in Doncaster. I guess it depends on when and where you are meeting - or if I like Lisa when I meet her on Friday
