Trace hope you are well - have your heard the horror story about William biting his tongue in half almost? Poor lamb had to have it stitched up under general anaesthetic - it's been a traumiatic week!

Hi cheekypie! Where abouts in Barnsley are you? I'm not actually from Barnsley - we live in Flockton in between Huddersfield and Wakefield but have never found anyone from there to meet up with! DS1 goes to nursery with trace2's DS - we pass through where it is to get to work in case you were wondering why we went so out of our way to nursery!!

My next thursday off is 23rd Nov.

Will try keep it bumped up to catch the others i only just saw it.

Where we planning on going? We've just been on holidayto Cornwall and we hadLewis in a soft play ball pool and he loved it so can i vote for a soft play?

How about Jellybeans at Denby Dale? It's really small but we really like it - last Tursday morning we were the only ones in there!!

I think afternoon would be better for us about 1.00 or 2.00 but can fit around Lewis's sleep.

He doesn't really have a nap routine so don't worry about that.

Bloody bugger! Totally forgot that I have to go into work on Friday for an appraisal type thing. Now, there's a chance I may only have to go in for my meeting at 8.30 in which case I'm fine to meet up still, but if I have to stay the whole day ( get paid for it don't worry!) I won't be able to come.
Will find out tomorrow and let you know ASAP.

Hi Rockyhorrorstinkypeteamber! Oh I'm sorry that work is so awful. Don't know if you have seen any of my threads at all but i handed my notice in yesterday!! The day to day stuff in the classroom was fine it was just the rest of it that I can't cope with. I just don't have the energy or interest to be honest in my job.
Fingers crossed I can find something but hey, we'll manage. Could be down La Redoute answering phones by January but if it pays the mortgage what the hell!!
Hope that you are not too sad and get in touch if you fancy a chat.

hi sarah, my job has completely changed while i've been off. it's now completely dominated by computer in-putting and financial restraints - not at all the social work i trained to do. v sad.
but even sadder, is how bitchy and unhelpful everyone is being. i realise they've just covered my work while i have had 8 months at home playing with beautiful baby. but they've (almost) all had families too, i don't see why they have to be bitter towards me for having my turn.
o well. i'm only doing two days until christmas, then if i'm still really not happy i will have to be brave enough to look elsewhere. as much as i'm not feeling up to this job, i also don't feel up to going for interviews either! but i always said i'd hate to be one of those people you hear moaning on about their job

just read your threads sarah, i think i feel the same as you. it's like you've got to run the household, children, all the things it took you all week to do, AND work as well with no extra hours in the day isn't it? and you jjust don't have the capacity for all the crap that comes with the workplace.
btw, what on earth did ds do to his tongue?

Hi stinkyrockypete. Re the tongue - he fell over in the night and practically bit through his tongue! Ended up at A & E in Huddersfield who referred us to Bradford as he was going to need it stiching It was an awful day and I can't believe how good he was. Had to carry him down to theatre and held him whilst they put him under which was horrible. I don't know how people cope who have really sick children. He was fine the next day but is still reluctant to show anyone his tongue!!
How awful your job is so different now. Are there other jobs in your field out there? Know what you mean about have to got through the whole trauma of actually applying for other jobs. I am sticking my head in the sand a bit and being ridiculously optimistic that something will be out there for me!
November 23rd sounds good to meet up Phoenixghoul and long enough away for us to get organised!
